What is the difference between a DDS Type 1 and Type 2 ??
A quick word of warning, There is SoftwareControledHamRadio.io group who have an Antennae Analyser that uses the same modules but who have numbered them oppositely. Cheers, Will ZL1TAO

Very Late Start - Type 2
Thanks Mike for the reminder that a sine wave is required. Curt, I think I have all the parts, what I don't have at present is time. Cheers, Will

Very Late Start - Type 2
Hi Curt, Uno are cheap on Epay. QRPLabs has a Si5351 module that fits in place of a AD98590 DDS board. No connection other than I bought but like you yet to do anything with (catarachs don't help). Ch

Mod proposal to PHSNA
Hi Ignacio, Two suggestions: One: Why use analogue pin unless you wish to measure it? Why not a digital pin that is pulled high with a resistive divider. Also solves problem of noise in ADC conversion

AD9851 Type II DDS module questions
Hi, As you say most of info is in files some where. Try the AD9850 directory for the Type II AD9850. I believe AF9851 is the same just that the oscillator is multiplied by 6 internally. The only diffe

Use 3.3 volts oscillator with AD9851 [1 Attachment]
Hi All, Just a warning. Check the Oscillator voltage on DDS modules. I bought five AD8950 DDS type II early on. One had 3.3 volt version of the 125Mhz osc. All others were 5v 125Mhz oscillators. Cheer

Hi John, If I can step in here. First: The Ared voltage uses separate regulator as it is more stable and less noisy than the Arduino power supply. Set to 5v or slightly below, assuming Arduino powered

I'll join the incomprehensibility of C & C++ it seems to me that they and more particularly C++ to break many of the rules I was taught in the early days. I won't say how long ago that was. I liked as

Xtal filter bandwidth
Thanks DUWayne & , I should have googled before putting fingers to keys. Slap on wrist with wet bus ticket. I was thinking in terms of SBB to AM. Might be feasible. frequency shift wouldn't be too muc

Xtal filter bandwidth
Would it be practical to use varicap diodes to vary bandwidth of xtal filters? Instead of using fixed value caps it is obviously possible to replace or use in parallel with fixed capacitor between xta

HI John, I'm with Jim on this. A dry joint or possibly a very small bead of solder shorting traces or pins on DDS chip. Hope its not the module. Cheers, Will

Hi, If you are seeing traces blink I would slow the trace down so that it takes about 10 secs per sweep. Just keep a careful eye on any blips. Set the y to about 5 volt for two divisions. A counter in
