QRSS and Raspberry Pi
Jose
Hi Guys,
The folks at RTL-SDR have another Ham centered article. QRSS - which is a mode of really slow CW has found its way to the Raspberry Pi! A project called QRSSPiG is available! The RTl-SDR article is below: https://www.rtl-sdr.com/qrsspig-decoding-qrss-on-a-raspberry-pi-with-an-rtl-sdr/ and here is the QRSSPiG project on GitHub: https://github.com/MartinHerren/QrssPiG Enjoy! 73, Joe de VA3POR

Group IO Wiki
Jose
Hi Guys,
so one of the things I'm doing to help keep this group useful and up to date is the Wiki feature for this group. If you look at the navigation menu to the left, at the bottom is a Wiki. As time goes on and you make your posts, I'm taking the links in those posts and organizing them into pages of links - just to make it easier to find things, and give our information some structure. You are welcome to contribute to the Wiki, or if you prefer, just post your findings as a topic and I'll take it from there! Enjoy and 73 Joe de VA3POR

Permissions Adjusted - Subscibers able to upload files and edit Wiki
Jose
Guys my apologies,
I just changed the permissions to allow file uploads and for the Wiki to be editable by subscribers to this group. Vic was kind enough to point out the issues, so I've made adjustments. Housekeeping Point

Digital Amateur Television
Jose
Our good friends at RTL-SDR do it again.
They have posted an article on digital amateur radio TV. The setup uses two Raspberry Pi's, the Lime SDR Mini and a standard RTL-SDR dongle. One RPi has the a camera, and takes the camera stream, encodes into DVB-T then to I/Q where the Lime SDR picks it up and transmits on 1.2 GHz. On the other side, we have another RPi with an RTL dongle receiving on 1.2 GHz, then taking the I/Q stream, and reversing the process to come up with a video stream. This is real time digital video transmission folks - 1080p, no slow scan here. Here's the link: https://www.rtl-sdr.com/a-pocket-datv-transmitter-and-receiver-with-raspberry-pi-limesdr-mini-and-rtl-sdr/ 73, Joe de VA3POR

Reference Information
va3pb_ares
Hi everyone. After observing some of the posts on our group, I realized there exists an uneven playing field. The last thing I want to see happening is a loss of interest because most of the information posted, assumes all are talking the same language and at the same level. For those of us who don't speak computer, I would like to suggest following up with some publications I found help fill in the holes in the road, so to speak. Certainly, if you have discovered other books, lets hear from you. In the mean time, pose a question to the group, in the area of your concern and, see where it leads.
In the mean time, The Raspberry Foundation of Great Britain is a gud source of reference material and, as well, there are any number of video's on U-tube which I found very useful.. Another source is the Raspberry Pi Manual purchased at Shoppers Drug for $24.99 usd. It contains a lot of how to, with glossy photo's and, as well projects, if your interested in that sort of thing. For those of us who own Raspberry Pi-3b's, there is a publication produced in the USA called Raspberry Pi3 by Paul Jones. I bought my copy through the internet for $15.00 usd. It specializes in just the pi-3, has dark bolded print, double spaced and, is must easier to read. It delves into the basics such as where to get software on the net, how to load on the sd card etc. It's the best I've seen so far for getting to the root of the pi. Have fun and keep in touch. Paul
