For the new year-a pair of Black Oystercatchers were at the end of the outer jetty, so was a Black Turnstone and a Spotted Sandpiper. I haven't seen too many Western Grebes and so no die-offs as yet. There has been a dozen or so Surf Scoters flying by in December and January. The Black-vented Shearwaters  were flying within 1/2 mile from the jetty yesterday.
