Nominations for NAFA’s 2014/2015 elections close in tomorrow, September 30, at midnight Central daylight time.  NAFA will continue to accept valid nominations through 11:59.

Elections this year are for Board of Directors (3 positions), Judge of the Year, Clyde Moore Memorial Hall of Fame (up to 2 inductees) and regional MVPs.  Election results will be announced at the Annual General Meeting in Athens, GA, January 10, 2015 .

At the August NAFA® Board of Director meeting, I proposed a regional split for California (Region 16).  Since this meeting I have received a large amount of additional input from competitors in this, and surrounding regions. 

After careful consideration of all input received, I have decided to withdraw my request to make any changes to Region 16 at this time.  I will continue to monitor participation in all of our regions looking for ways to improve Flyball throughout NAFA®.

CanAm – 5 weeks away! 

Closing of nominations for NAFA’s 2014/2015 elections – 2 weeks away on September 30th!

That said, it’s time to encourage you to turn your attention briefly from planning for next month’s games to considering whether there is a canine competitor whose accomplishments you’d like to recognize as a Regional MVP or for the Hall of Fame, a judge to be considered for “Judge of the Year” or someone whose leadership you’d like to see guide and shape the future of our sport.

This year’s elections will be for Board of Directors (three positions), Judge of the Year, Clyde Moore Memorial Hall of Fame (up to two inductees) and regional MVPs.  Election results will be announced at the Annual General Meeting in Athens, Georgia, January 10, 2015.  

Please note that nominees for the Clyde Moore Memorial Hall of Fame must not have earned NAFA points within 18 months of the close of the nominating period. For the upcoming election, this means that the nominees cannot have earned points subsequent to March 31, 2013.

New to 2014 is that nominations for Hall of Fame, Regional MVPs and Judge of the Year may be submitted only via the online entry forms.

Presented by Animal Inn, the ”Josh Beissel Spirit of Flyball” Award will be given to the person(s) that, like Josh, exhibit and embody exceptional goodwill and sportsmanship towards other teams, as well as displaying a real passion and excitement for the thrill of competition and racing.

Josh had a real passion for racing but he was always humble in victory, gracious in defeat, and when he wasn't in the lanes racing he could always be found helping another team or the host club.

Josh embodied the spirit of a true ambassador of Flyball and Animal Inn was proud to have had him as a member.

This award is intended to recognize others in our Flyball community that also embody that same spirit and joy for the game that we all love so much.

To nominate someone for the "Josh Beissel Spirit of Flyball Award", please submit your nomination to AnimalInnFlyball@... by September 30th.

Animal Inn will select a recipient from those nominated by the nomination deadline.

The award will be presented at the awards ceremony Saturday night at this year's NAFA CanAm Classic in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Now that entries have closed, it’s time to start thinking about the annual CanAm Classic Gift Basket Exchange! It’s back for the 4^th year!

This is a great way for your club to meet clubs from other regions. Each participating club would both give and receive a basket. We will assign clubs to each other and let you know in advance to whom you are giving your basket.

What should you include? Use your creativity and imagination! It can be a theme basket of items that are only found in your region, state or province. It could be a snack basket for the people. Or, perhaps you want to give something that is just for the dogs. It doesn't have to be extravagant, just something fun you want to share. Don't have a basket? No worries, just put the items in a gift bag.

If your club would like to be included in the meet and greet exchange please email canamgbexchange@..., by Sept 15^th.

Your email should include your club name, region, state and the size of your club (how many people are attending the CanAm). If you’ve participated in the exchange before and it’s convenient, please add who you’ve been paired with previously as well.

We will let you know by September 19^th, what club you will be paired with and the number of people in attendance for that club, so that you can plan and make purchases for your basket/bag.

There will be no organized time for the gift basket exchange. Each club will deliver their baskets at their own convenience while attending CanAm.
