2016 CanAm Gift Basket Exchange!

All clubs headed to CanAm this October, come on and get to know your Flyball neighbors from the north, south, east or west!

Sign up for the annual gift basket exchange and participate in the meet-and-greet.

Deadline is September 15th.

Plenty of new clubs and lots of returning clubs are coming to compete. You might as well get to know some of the Flyballers from other areas; we have people coming from just about as far south, west, north AND east as you can get in North America!

Surely there's someone you haven't met yet. How about joining in on the Gift Basket Exchange?

Each participating club brings a gift basket and is paired with another club of similar size. During the gift basket exchange you'll meet and get to know people you probably don't already and exchange baskets.

Nominations for NAFA elections opened August 1. Elections this year will be for Executive Director, Board of Directors (3 positions), Judge of the Year, Clyde Moore Memorial Hall of Fame (up to 2 inductees) and Regional MVPs.

All nominations must be received no later than September 30, 2016.

NAFA Board of Directors Town Hall Meeting

This coming Saturday, June 4th, the NAFA will have a Town Hall meeting following racing at Some Ruff Competitions Rockfest tournament. This tournament is at the Rockton Fairgrounds, in Rockton, Ontario.

It will be a chance to meet the Board of Directors and welcome its three new members, ask questions and provide feedback to the board. For those racing, the meeting will take place shortly after racing concludes.

For those that aren’t racing but wish to attend, the racing is expected to end around 5pm. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

Letter from the NAFA Chairman

It is my pleasure to announce the 2016 NAFA Board of Directors

Dave Walt

There has been some significant changes to the Board this year as you may have noticed. Both Leerie Jenkins and Karen Oleson had reached the end of their second terms. Both Leerie and Karen have worked tirelessly for NAFA and I’d like to thank both for their hard work. They certainly leave big shoes to fill.

In addition to losing both Leerie and Karen, it is with great regret that that board received the resignation from Lee Heighton as Executive Director following the 2016 Annual General Meeting. Lee has been an integral part of NAFA, and has provided 13 years of dedicated service to the Board. While his presence will be greatly missed, we wish him nothing but the best and are incredibly grateful for his service and the impact he’s had on our sport.

To fill the large void created by Lee’s departure, we were very fortunate to have Sam Ford accept the appointment to Executive Director. There are few people in our sport that know and understand the work that is involved in being the Executive Director, but Sam knows first hand, and we are in very good hands with him taking over.

Kim Davis was re-elected the Board this year and joining her as newly elected members are Dana Hanson and Steve Corona. The Board is also very pleased to welcome aboard Jennifer Bell, who accepted the appointment to fill in the vacancy created by Sam Ford’s departure to the Executive Director.

So please join me in both thanking the departing members for all their incredible service, as well as congratulating our newest members!
