NAFA is committed to providing an inclusive environment at our events for all our participants (both canine and human). Legislation that legalizes discrimination against any portion of our population is unacceptable and the consequences of such legislation should be addressed. We have a mandate to protect the participants of our sport from potential harassment and discrimination, as evidenced by our stance against tournaments hosted in BSL communities. The situation in Indiana, which affects not only the LGBT community but all of us in NAFA, should not be overlooked. 

We expect this legislation will face legal challenges and we hope to see it overturned. Organizations with a larger financial impact in Indiana are already leading the effort to overturn this law by boycotting the state, but if this law is allowed to stand, NAFA will reevaluate the presence of CanAm in Indianapolis.

We are contractually obligated to the Indiana State Fair Grounds for 2015 and 2016, but will certainly reevaluate this relationship if this legislation stands.  Until that time, we will do all we can to defend those who could be negatively affected.  In the meantime, we encourage our participants to patronize businesses in Indiana that display signs indicating "This Business is Open to Everyone."

We look forward to continuing playing flyball in a diverse and inclusive community.  We hope to see you ALL at CanAm.

Just a reminder, ballots were distributed via email on December 1st, 2014 (Monday).  If you haven't received your ballot, please send an email to elections@... so we can figure out the issue and get it resent.  Ballots are sent to eligible voters, which include: club owners, regional directors, approved and supervising judges, and board members.

Voting will end January 8, 2015 and results will be announced at the Annual General Meeting on January 10, 2015.

CanAm title ribbons are all sorted and in their envelopes to be mailed!  Hoping to make it to the post office tomorrow (Friday).

In a weird turn of events, I know there is a missing order.  The envelope inadvertently went home with someone and they mailed it to me and I never received it.  SO - if you filled out a form and gave me a cheque, and it has NOT been cashed, please contact me and I will get it sorted out.

This year’s election will again be conducted electronically. No ballots will be mailed.

All voters must have a valid email address on file with NAFA to receive a ballot. If you need to update your email address please email crn@... by November 23, 2014. Voters include: Club Owners, Regional Directors, Approved and Supervising Judges, and Board Members.

Please see the current rulebook at http://www.flyball.org for the specific vote allocations. There are no changes since last year's election.

If you wish to confirm your email address and number of votes you have two options:

1. Go through the email verification process, as done in previous years. The email you receive will also indicate how many votes you have earned for this election. To do this go to http://www.nafaflyball.com/database/eballot_signup.php, input your name and email address. Once you are found in the database, you’ll be sent a confirmation email.

2. View your contact info and vote count through your NAFA website account http://www.nafaflyball.com/database/public/public_login.php.
