Hi Andrew, I use ACLog with some slight modifications... I renamed one of the "other fields" to POTA and then use that box to record the Park Number. Also, when you go to awards, you can easily get a list of the park numbers that you have worked. Hope this helps. 73 de Joe KJ8O

I also use ACLog for POTA activities. I set up the "other" fields as:
Other 6: STATION_CALLSIGN (needed in the ADIF when submitting activation logs to POTA) Other 7: my NPOTA site (park number when I am an actvator, the "N" is a relic of the NPOTA days) Other 7: NPOTA site (park number of the station I'm chasing, or for park-to-park when activating) In addition, I have "Other 1" labelled as "Event" and always enter "POTA" in that field so I can easily pull out any POTA activities. The "EVENT" "STATION_CALLSIGN" and "My NPOTA Site" fields are set up to auto-fill from the previous record. "NPOTA site" is set for no auto fill. The entry box will show a flag if I enter a new, unworked park number there. When chasing from the home QTH I just log in my main station log. When activating I create a new log file with the park name and number. i.e. "Lake Norman State Park K-2740.mdb" After an activation, be sure if you upload to LoTW to make an appropriate station location entry in TQSL Hope to hear you on POTA - I'll be at K-4473 over the Thanksgiving Holiday Jim, N5IB

Join the Parks on the Air Facebook page. Look in the files section and there is a great description of how to setup ACLog for POTA. Direct link to one of the best below: https://www.facebook.com/groups/parksontheair/permalink/1925816157709242

That actually won't work as needed for activating. You need to use SIG_INFO for the P2P park worked and MY_SIG_INFO for your park activated. Also ensure that your operator callsign is in the OPERATOR field in the program setup.

There is a good video on setting up ACL for use with POTA on YouTube. the title is N3FJP ACLog for POTA Activators. the VLogger is Matt Heere. Here is a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VePKcyP8ppw
I think all is covered in this video very well. seven three de Kevin/NB7O

I like to work contests very casually by just making contacts, no interest in my score.
Also like to work POTA stations. I setup first "other" field for this. I named it "Contest/event". I positioned it so it is convenient and visible when adding a new contact. For POTA entries i enter "POTApark#". For contests I enter contest name or abbreviation & year. That way i can retrieve a list of either. I hope this nhelps.

I am not into POTA but this video should be “required viewing” for anyone new to ACL for an understanding of the Other Fields, creating/positioning fields on form, setting up tabbing, other ACL behavior. Would save a few hours of trial and error & headaches.

There is a field called Contest ID, I haven't checked if it is visible or not. If you use any of N3FJP's contest programs he uses this field in the main log to fold the name of the contest log you imported. You should be
able to use this field to hold the contest name or your POTA number as needed.

The Contest ID field is visible, but once you edit a record, then click 'more' and the screen opens up to almost a full page, and it's there in the the first rox of boxes right under 'Comments' I would not recommend using Contest ID for recording POTA contacts though. as sometimes the entrants in the State QSO Parties activate a POTA site. I have had this happen a few times already. Also, if POTA is in a separate field, you can run an Awards Report to see how many of the parks you have worked. Just my thoughts, thanks for reading. 73 de Joe KJ8O Desert Hot Springs CA

There is also documentation in the files section of the POTA Facebook page and you can always find help in the potahelp Slack channel.

That would be OK for just chasing but activators need to use the SIG fields for P2P redundancy.

As Jim Shorney has suggested, I have posted detailed instructions on the POTA Facebook page in the Files Section for how to modify ACLog for POTA-specific use. If you have issues setting it up, contact me directly offline. My info on QRZ is good.... Rick Parent W0ZAP

Finally!!! I now know where the associations take place between the "OTHER" fields and the ADIF specification. Really great video, humorous too.
