CA QSO PARTY LOG
Hi all,
I'll be in the CA QSO Party this w/e - i notice that clicking on the CA CNTY in the list populates the CNTY field with, e.g., "Los Angeles" and not the prescribed cnty abbrev "LANG", as the rules say to send. Will this be accepted by the sponsors / has anybody submitted in the past the full cnty spelled out and not the 4-character abbreviation and had it accepted OK? Thanks, Ray N6HE

Hi Ray, I will be working it too. Just did a test spin, and the Cabrill file correctly reports the 4 letter county abbreviations, as shown below, START-OF-LOG: 3.0 CREATED-BY: N3FJP's California QSO Party Contest Log 4.2 CONTEST: NCCC-CQP CALLSIGN: KJ8O LOCATION: CA CATEGORY-OPERATOR: KJ8O CATEGORY-STATION: FIXED CATEGORY-TRANSMITTER: ONE CATEGORY-POWER: LOW CATEGORY-ASSISTED: NON-ASSISTED CATEGORY-BAND: ALL CATEGORY-MODE: SSB CATEGORY-TIME: 12-HOURS CLAIMED-SCORE: 2 OPERATORS: KJ8O NAME: Joseph Miller ADDRESS: 67625 Monterey Road ADDRESS-CITY: Desert Hot Springs ADDRESS-STATE-PROVINCE: CA ADDRESS-POSTALCODE: 92240 ADDRESS-COUNTRY: U.S.A. I will be running at a triple County station to operate the California QSO Party. When I set up my logging software, when asked for my County, do I just pick any one of the 3? Will this be a problem when I submit logs? As I understand it, I would just instruct the stations to simply log me three separate times with each county (unless their SW can log it in one entry). I assume This software will allow it (with warning??) 73, Tim KD6HOF

Tim; How do we know you are in 3 counties in one transmission without you doing a “laundry list” in each transmission? This question really belongs on a different thread than Scott’s, but actually presents some logging problems with us out-of-staters. How can you be in three counties at once? Dale K8TS

Hi Tim,
Thanks for your e-mail. Enter all 3 counties (from the main form, click Change County and then click the button).
Enjoy!
