IC7300 with aclog

To split rig control from sound functions you need to install a CIV cable, put the Icom Drivers on your computer, and change some settings in your 7300's menus. Then you can have multiple programs access your radio simultaneously. I can help you with this if you like.

I have a similar setup and the same problem as you were having. I'm curious how you use two cables to work around it when there's only one USB input to the 7300? With my radio plugged into my Windows 11 pc, I see only one com port. I can use it either for AC Log control or ft8 control and I have to manually switch in AC Log to either "None" for FT8, or "7300" for ssb. Jonathan |

JR, You might want to unplug the rig, reboot your pc, then reconnect the rig. I have found that some programs continue to hold the port when they disconnect. Also, take note of the ports present before and after connecting the rig. That action should add a new enhanced com port, and a higher-numbered standard com port (for CW and PTT control.) Those are the ones you should be pointing to. Bob N3FM On Sat, Nov 26, 2022, 1:27 PM JR Riner <ke4pmp@...> wrote: Just to clarify to understand what I think I read on the website. I do not understand split ports or virtualization so that is out for sure. I am positive I had it working both ways on my previous computer before it crapped out using 2 different cables setup on different com ports. I cannot make it work now even though device mgr shows them as different comports I keep getting access denied to the port and there is nothing else using that port. |

For now I suppose I am stuck with manual log entry when in ssb mode unless someone can point me a different direction. 73 ke4pmp |
