FTDX-101D will not find COMPORT to key up/PTT

You can share the rig using Hamlib and either rigctld or FLRig.
It does require you install some virtual serial port software.  I use Eltima.  Not sure if com0com works on Windows 11.

rigctld procedure
#1 rigctld -l | find "MYRIG" -- where MYRIG is the digital part of your rig mode.
e.g. We want to set up our TS-2000
rigctld -l | find "2000"
  1029  Yaesu                  FT-2000                 20221104.2      Stable      RIG_MODEL_FT2000
  2014  Kenwood                TS-2000                 20221124.0      Stable      RIG_MODEL_TS2000
#2 Use the model# from #1 and run rigctld adjusting COM port and baud rate to suit.
rigctld -m 2014 -r COM1 -s 19200
#3 Install some virtual serial port software.
#4 run rigctlcom to connect to rigctld or FLRig
rigctlcom Version 1.3
Usage: rigctlcom -m rignumber -r comport -s baud -R comport [OPTIONS]...

A TS-2000 emulator for rig sharing with programs that don't support Hamlib or FLRig to be able
to use a connected radio transceiver or receiver with FLRig or rigctld via Hamlib.

Example: Using FLRig with virtual COM5/COM6 and other program:
    rigctlcom -m 4 -R COM5 -S 115200
Example: Using rigctld
    rigctld -m 2 -R COM5 -S 115200

Other program would connect to COM6 and use TS-2000 115200 8N1

I'm trying to get com2tcp working which should allow rigctld to work without virtual serial ports.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your follow up.  Keep in mind that you will need to use separate ports for rig interface and sending CW.

Windows will not share ports with other programs, or different functions within the same program. For example, if you are using com port 18 for rig interface, you'll need to select another com port for CW sending in the software (and of course connect your CW interface to the com port selected for CW). Your CW sending interface and your rig interface are two different devices and each will have to be connected to a different port.

Likewise, if you are using a digital program such as WSJT, you will either need to first disable rig interface in WSJT before connecting to N3FJP Software, or disable rig interface in N3FJP Software (select None from the rig list) before connecting with WSJT.

If you are receiving a com port sharing error, it is because the com port is already in use by another program or another function in N3FJP Software. Whichever program or function you open first takes control of the com port. No other program or function will be able to access it until the resource is released by the program that controls it.

Most folks (including us) use USB to serial adapters for each port function, but we've also had good reports from folks using a single port and com port virtualization software, which will split a physical COM port into multiple virtual ones.

Also keep in mind that many folks (also including us) use Winkeyer to send CW, which will automatically create an additional com port when you plug it into your PC.

I hope that this helps!

Enjoy, and Happy Thanksgiving!

I have followed all of the details on N3FJP to setup my FTDX-101D, but I cannot get it to connect to a comport to control PTT/keying. I have read many posts on this group for help, but nothing is working for me. The software wants to connect to my Yaesu enhanced port, but it will not coexist. I have a list of comports, but most are already in use. I have created virtual comport pairs, but they do not work either. I am thinking there is a box that I should have checked in the RI or elsewhere, but that is lost on me: new user here.

Really want to get this going for the CW WW this weekend, so any help would be appreciated.
