Re: FT-950 settings

When you say you “can key up the 950” does that mean you can can send CW from the rig? The fact that you can’t change frequency from the software tells me that the rig is not reading and responding to the software polls. I experienced similar symptoms and traced it to RFI on the CI-V cable between the rig in my case a Icom 756 Pro III and the N3FJP software on a Windows 10 laptop. Placing large ferrites on either end of the cable with the cable looped through the ferrites 3-4 times did the trick. My cable is a West Mountain Rigtalk made for the rig.

Hi Craig,

Thanks for your e-mail.  To resize Bearing, Miles and Continent, click Settings > Appearance > Colors and Fonts.  On the form that appears, click Change Main Form Font, (Bearing, etc).

Enjoy!

AC Log 6.6 On The Website!

Scott Davis

Hi All,

It will be another day or two before I send out the announcement to the larger, Announcements Only group, but I would really appreciate it if you would give AC Log 6.6 a try!  AC Log 6.6. includes the following enhancements:

- DX Spotted digital mode frequencies can be blocked or enabled independently from CW / SSB.  Click More Filtering on the DX Spotting set up form to configure.

- Use Shift (or Ctrl Shift) + Up / Down, Left / Right arrows to tune your rig's frequency with rig interface enabled.

- Font control for bearing, miles, time, etc.  (click Settings > Appearance > Colors & Fonts).

- Ability to query all digital modes together on the awards form (enter DIG on the Awards form's mode field).

- Added Yaesu - Newer 2 option on the rig interface form's rig list to support Yaesu 991, Yaesu 101 D and Yaesu 101 MP.

- User added DX Spotting Telnet sites are saved and available for selection in the drop down list on the DX Spotting set up form.

LoTW Download - made state and county data additions optional for countries outside USA (control from the check box on the LoTW set up form).

- Passive Mode Option for FTP Web Upload (Settings > Web Upload Status Settings).

More Details on Keyboard Fine Tuning:

I am particularly excited about the new keyboard fine tuning feature.  It was actually inspired while using the contest software and it really came in handy during CQ WW SSB, so I have gone ahead and added it to AC Log, too.

I have really been enjoying using the various contest software options to quickly jump to the next spotted station (Ctrl + Shift  + Z, jump to next DX Spot on entry, clicking on a spot, etc.), but occasionally the spotted frequency is slightly off, requiring a reach for the VFO.  I wanted the ability to tune in the station without having to reach for the rig, so I've coded the software to do just that!  Here are the keyboard commands:

SSB:

Ctrl + Right:  +500 Hz
Ctrl + Shift + Right:  +150 Hz
Ctrl + Down:  +50 Hz
Ctrl + Shift + Down:  +10 Hz

Ctrl + Left:  -500 Hz
Ctrl + Shift + Left:  -150 Hz
Ctrl + Up:  -50 Hz
Ctrl + Shift + Up:  -10 Hz

CW / DIG:

Ctrl + Right:  +250 Hz
Ctrl + Shift + Right:  +80 Hz
Ctrl + Down:  +20 Hz
Ctrl + Shift + Down:  +5 Hz

Ctrl + Left:  -250 Hz
Ctrl + Shift + Left:  -80 Hz
Ctrl + Up:  -20 Hz
Ctrl + Shift + Up:  -5 Hz

That may seem complicated, but don't get too caught up in the actual values.  I think when you try it and actually tune in stations on the air, it will quickly become intuitive.

Lord willing, if I can complete all the upgrades in time,  I am planning a global release of all my contest software in early January, which will include all the non AC Log specific features listed above as well!

As always, upgrades are free to registered users.  Please just follow these upgrade steps here:

Please give AC Log 6.6 a try and let me know how you make out!

Enjoy!

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for your e-mail.  In the rig interface form, try setting the power option to None (depending on your interface hardware, you may not need power, or it may be the other option).   That should remedy the rig keying when you click Test.

I don't have any Yaesu equipment here myself, but you will find the successful settings other 950 users have sent along here:

Re: ACLog and Fldigi

Greg - Well, nobody has answered my query but I googled N3FJP AClog and flidig using API and found something about it.    I brought up both programs and went in to the configuration of fldigi and made sure everything was as in the tutorial and it was. tried it and it actually did connect to ACLog.   So, it is working okay.

Reason I was asking is my PSK ExpressSE digital program by N7YG, Jeff went bonkers on me when I uninstalled another program so I was in a quandry to get something running so I brought up fldigi (my backup)  — I like the program but I just wish there was a data field specifically for the 10-10 and VP numbers and there isn’t and not a good way to get all that info over in to ACLog.

But I did finally get my PSK ExpressSE working again. Just had to reinstall the program and it is working okay now but I will continue to use fldigi occasionally  though.  I got most of all the macros set up in fldigi so I’m ready to go if need be.

Hope this helps.

Re: ACLog and Fldigi

in AC LOG GO TO

Settings - Application Program Interface

Select top box TCP API Enabled

Do not check bottom box

IN FLDIGI

GO TO  configure - Contest/Logging

Select the  LOG tab

And check Connect box  and enable data stream minimum, I have the other
two checked but you will have to experiment as to what works for you.

It works fine for me here on several different rigs

Make sure both programs have same port number also

Good Luck
