Hi Greg,

Thanks for your follow up. The data transfer is all handled by FLDigi. There is nothing in AC Log that would block a partial data transfer.

As others have posted, you should be getting signal reports from FLDigi, so I suggest you post your question here:

https://groups.io/g/winfldigi/

Good luck!

Re: Ctrl-Shift-R feature

Mike Olbrisch

Scott,

Thanks for clearing that up.  I was wondering myself what sort of can-of-worms would be opened by adding that port on/off function to the present <Ctrl>-<Shift>-<R> function.  It’s no secret I enjoy VHF/UHF weak-signal QSOs.  The main HF radio is connected to the logging/digital computer.  Back in the day, the 6-m, 2-m and 70-cm radios were separate, and I just didn’t enable radio/computer interfacing at all.  It was a PITA.  Presently the HF and 6-m are now combined and with the <Ctrl>-<Shift>-<R> function it works well.

The point is, I’m as likely to be monitoring 10-m and 6-m on the main radio, but be knocking out a couple of 2-m SSB contacts throughout the day.  The <Ctrl>-<Shift>-<R> function is super-useful to enter a quick QSO on the other bands not presently monitored by AC-Log.

Maybe a <Ctrl>-<Shift>-<P> function for closing the port?  I wouldn’t need it, but perhaps others?

We have a young (11 y/o) boy across the mountains from me.  I had my old ICOM IC-251A multi-mode 2-m radio up in the loft collecting dust.  I passed it down, and it is nice to hear a young man making the local nets and participating in parade comms etc. Especially the Sunday Night On Two (SNOT) net every week.

Thanks for the hard work on your fantastic programs.  I’ll share this graphic with you – it came from a JEEP forum, JEEPs can be a huge can of worms too.

Mike.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for your follow up.  The intent of the Ctrl + Shift + R function is enable quick, manual entry of a QSO without the need to disable rig interface.  Completely turning  off rig interface and fully closing the connection (and then reenabling it) is another function entirely, that may or may not require disabling of the com port (because of the API options), may require sending additional connection codes, depending on rig, etc.  Adding code in the  Ctrl + Shift + R method to disable the com port would break the functionality of Ctrl + Shift + R as programmed.

In short, what you are asking for is an additional hot key command to completely turn off rig interface, which is not what Ctrl + Shift + R is designed to do.  I will give an additional hot key command some thought for the future.

Enjoy!

But why not just disable the port directly in addition to the value updates with the Ctrl-Shift-R to eliminate the last three steps — one of which is a keyboard command (ctrl-R), and two of which are mouse commands?

Just wondering why it’s necessary to keep the port open when you are not updating the values?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your e-mail.  If you know the call sign(s) that you are looking for, yes.  Click File > Watch List and enter the calls.  Then, on the same form, in the DX Spot audio alert option, select speech.

Enjoy!

Can I create a voice notification in AClog, when a SOTA spot comes along?    In other words, filter for sota spots?
I could use some quick direction on making that happen.
Thanks all!!

Hi Greg,

Thanks for your e-mail.  You can click Settings > Fill Fields When Tabbing From Call so that AC Log will default to the last RST entered when tabbing from the Call field.  That said, you should be getting reports from FLDigi and I suggest you post your question here:

https://groups.io/g/winfldigi/

Good luck!

Go to:  Configure > Contest/Logging > N3FJP Logs —

Under N3FJP logs I have address as 127.0.0.1 and Port is 1100 and make sure to the right of the button that says ‘Default’ that the box is checked for ‘Connect’   —

When you do that, then in a few seconds or so the little diamond below it should turn ‘green’ showing connected.    You should be good to go then.
