My_Gridsquare info

Marlo Montanaro - KA2IRQ

I need a little clarification on where some data is getting populated from.

A friend of mine is using ACLog V6.6.  He will export his entire log into an ADIF file and import it to a web site that plots all the grid squares he has worked.  The weird thing is that the site centers itself on his grid square, which it seems to think is MN30 in eastern Europe.  His correct grid is FN20 in New Jersey (as is mine).

When I open the ADIF file in Notepad, many of the individual records have a field called My_Gridsquare and it in fact shows his grid as MN30.  I poked all over ACLog to see where it is getting this info from and I can't find any field named My_Gridsquare or anywhere in the software where a field is populated with MN30.

I'm using ACLog V6.7 and when I do an export the My_Gridsquare field is correctly populated with FN20.

The weird thing is that not every QSO record in the database has a My_Gridsquare field.

Any insight to this?

73 and thanks,
Marlo - KA2IRQ

Good luck on that.  How about one for the QRP Fox Hunts.

Thanks for input. I'll check it out.
BUT I FOUND A SOLUTION!
I got the writelog program and it was easy enough for me to figure out and I did fine. Some fine tuning and user guide writeup to do, but it may be a winner.
Sorry Scott, I'll never give up on you! :)

There is N7YG's RTTY Digital Engine and PSKExpress. Both have the N3FJP API Interface.

OUCH! I see this is an old and unanswered topic. :(     The only solution is N1MM some say. But I've tried it three times and it is still a nightmare for me.
fldigi in the FSK mode with my winkeyer and rig in RTTY mode is a dream to work with and I need a simple logger for BARTG and a few others.

If you've reached the dreaded Antivirus 'clamping down' or 'RFI in the Shack' email, that's the signal that official support is done. Any further emails will be along the lines of 'we've already talked about this.'

If I were in your shoes, I would export any log file you have in ADFI format, completely remove the program including settings files. Turn back on your Norton and W-10 protection and reinstall fresh, then reimport you log files. You will have to change your settings back to your preferences, but that should eliminate whatever 'clamping down' might be and might fix your problem.

We're just a couple of days into a hurricane cleanup here, but if the above doesn't get it going, you can email my address on qrz.com and I'll try to help.

Are you logged into your windows 10 as an administrator or as a regular user.

Have you gone to the folder and given access to your present login?

I am unable to use this function as it just keeps looping after the Reset box.  After several emails and suggestions from Scott, without resolving the problem, he advises "I suspect that your internet protection software is clamping down on AC Log and/or your settings files. Giving AC Log and the support files the proper permissions on your protection software will correct that."
I am running Windows 10 with Norton 360. I have canceled all obvious "switches" within 360, Windows Firewall, etc. without resolution of the problem. I would be most grateful for advice on how to proceed. Further, I am not familiar with 'permissions' and can find no specific details about the process.

Adapting available specific contest logger for OTHER contests & fldigi

Bo W4GHV

We have a lot but not all of the contests covered, and I usually do trial/error to adjust what we have for the other contests.
Usually successful, using ADIF master and ADIFtoCabrillo programs.

Has anyone compiled a list of tips to do this? I keep failing to record my  results.

Second, adapting to fldigi is a nightmare. Despite a LOT of improvements, fldigi is still stubborn for these cases.
Using the ACL logger, I tried using the fldigi BARTG RTTY setting  and the Generic Contest setting.
It starts out briefly and sees ACL and kicks out, back to ACL and doesn't work.
I doubt W1HKJ has a solution, since his mods now work GREAT with the CORRECT logger programs. :)

Doing manual editing in today's BARTG 75 RTTY contest. Can't figure how to kick the Icom into 75 baud, but fldigi is fine.

Re: Schedule Export?

Mitch, thanks for the suggestions.  GridTracker tracks lots of other parameters in addition to grids.  The advantage is that it shows those items for all of the CQ calls (like JTAlert) so you can select which one to reply to quickly - which is important with FT8.  I use ACLog to keep track of award type info when "offline" from FT8.  I agree this ACLog is a great application for contact logging and this very active forum demonstrates that.  Support by the ACLog team is the best that I have seen for any PC application that I use for ham radio or otherwise.

Re: Schedule Export?

Jim,

OK, I didn't think it was for backups since there are already backup options as stated by Scott.

I don't use GridTracker nor track grids so can't help you there.  ACLog does have its own tracking by grids, counties, states, countries, etc.  Click on the Awards tab at the top and see if that meets your needs.

Good Luck and welcome back to the hobby!!  You've chosen an Excellent logger program!!
