Most curious solution, but it worked......
Morning all.
I reported a couple of days ago that I was having issues keeping my column widths in place. No one seemed to have any answer, Scott said the programming in that area had not changed in years. I believe them all. I used to live on Murphy St. If it can go wrong, it happens to me. Scott may remember the missing font debacle. Without Scott’s intervention, I might still be out of luck!
My only guess about the column issue was that maybe the little wireless keyboard with a touch-pad instead of a mouse might be the problem. So when I shut down my system in the control room this morning, I borrowed the spare wired mouse. When I got home, I reset the column widths, then went one-by-one and used the mouse to set the column widths as I wanted them.
AND IT WORKED! Column widths stayed where I set them as I opened and closed the program 5 times. The 5th restart, I downloaded the new country files before restarting. Still fine! I guess I better keep a wired mouse on hand just in case. This one needs to go back to work with me tonight. It won’t be missed today, due to COVID-19 we are operating out of two control rooms. Day shift is in the primary control room. I and my night crew will open up and run the back-up control center starting at 1730 MDT when the day shift will shut down the primary control room and go home for 12 hours.
I’m headed to bed. But I’m happy! It was a quiet night on the grid, but 12 hours is 12 hours and I’m beat. Y-all have a SUPER day! Stay safe, stay well.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your e-mail. To increase the number of rows in AC Log's Net Manager form, click the button at the upper left to change the number of rows. Don't enter a huge amount though, as it will take the form a long time to load.

What exactly do you mean by "the backups were not properly working"? They should be just fine unless you were sending them to a non-existent folder or a drive that was full, in which case I would think that you would have seen an error message.

Dale,
I'm coming late to the party, and am a little confused. I assume that you are using both the USB and the C-IV ports. It is the USB port that does the keying. As Scott indicated, you have to turn on CW keying in the menu (Menu > Set > Connectors > USB Send Keying > USB Keying (CW)). You also must be in CW mode on the 7300. I just checked it with my 7300 and WPX logger and it works ok for me. Hope this helps. Steve, AI3KS

Hi Dale,
I have a Winkeyer here, but I've received lots of good reports on Winkeyer Mini, which is a less expensive alternative and works just fine, too. You can control the speed with my software (which I do anyway), so you really don't miss anything by not having the speed pot.

I tried the 7610 settings but to no avail. I just may have to investigate the WinKeyer.
Bottom line, is I would like to use computer keyboarding instead of the memory keyer off the 7300.
I have just about run out of combinations, so will “paddle” my way through the contest 😊
I am sure it is just a setting, but everything else is playing as it should (rig control, spotting, and keyboard entry to the main form.)
Another issue that has popped up (with no relation to your software) that looks like immediate attention is needed, is my amp is now setting off my smoke alarm! The other half is not going to appreciate that at 2:00 am, so got to move the keying problem to the back burner for now.
Thanks for the great software! My best guess is that I have been using it for close to 20 years!

Thanks for your e-mail. It sounds like, instead of using Winkeyer or USB to serial keying hardware, you would like to key CW via your Icom 7300 directly. I can't speak to the 7300, but the menu tree to make that work in the Icom 7610 is as follows:
Menu > Set > Connectors > USB Send Keying > USB Keying (CW). I have my Icom 7610 set to DTR.
My Icom 7610 presents two com ports on my PC, Com7 and Com8. I select Com8 in the software for CW keying. Of course, you have to choose the option for DTR keying in my software as well.
I use Winkeyer here, but the option above seems to work fine, too.

Re: Name and operator columns
Scott Davis
Hi Steve,
Thanks for your e-mail. Your initials are fine in the initials field, but recent versions of TQSL definitely want a call sign in the Operator field. That said, it was my understanding that the latest release of TQSL did not do the check if the value didn't look like a name in the Operator field.
If you are positive you have the latest version of TQSL (and don't want to wait for them to ignore names, if they haven't already in a future version), you will have to edit those values.
With the large number of records, ADIF Master is probably the best approach. More details are here:

I have recently uninstalled 2.5.2/2.5.3 and reinstalled 2.4.
My two questions: do I need to edit the logs in your program to remove name and initials before I install TQSL 2.5.4? If I do need to edit and remove name and initials, is there an edit function for those columns to easily remove name and initials?
