Download to LoTW does not show QSL sent

Mel Marcus

Looking for some guidance.  I had four new contacts in ACLog. I downloaded them to LoTW. When I looked at AClog it did not show QSL sent = Y. I double checked LoTW and all four showed up. In fact two of them were already confirmed.  I downloaded confirmed from LoTW to ACLog and now the two showed Sent and Confirmed = Y but the other two still showed Sent = N and of course the Received = N

Hoping there is an easy explaination

It is in the individual contest and not the AClog. just below sort on log date and above reset counters. at least this  was in the Missouri log.

Hello All,
I have my IC-7300 communicating fine with ACLog, but have a problem when turning off the 7300 and trying to log in ACLog when on another rig that is NOT connected in any way to the computer.  What happens is the band, mode, and frequency fields stay populated with the last information received from the 7300.  The clear button does NOT clear them even after closing ACLog and restarting the program.  I also tried rebooting the computer and bringing up the program and trying to log. This gave the result of the band field being populated when entering a call and hitting the TAB key and the program won't let me change the band either by deleting the information or using the menu to select the band.  I am trying to log when using the K2 (again not connected to the computer) and this is a bit frustrating as you might imagine.  I have to go ahead and log the contact, then hit highlight and edit the contact.  I have to manually enter the fields during the edit and save the information for every QSO.  Even after editing the contact, the next time I have the same result with the band, mode, and frequency fields being populated with old information from the turned off 7300.  Is there a way to clear the band, mode, and frequency fields with my 7300 turned off?  Any suggestion appreciated...

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your e-mail.  Your TQSL cert is tied to the call sign you should be using on the air.

I will give thought to emitting both the call sign entered in setup, as well as operator call sign on ADIF export in a future release.

I've always entered my call sign in both the "Call" and the optional "Operator" fields when setting up any N3FJP program.

This weekend I'm operating the MO QSO party with a special 1x1 call... and so when setting up, I entered that 1x1 call in the Setup dialog's "Call" field, and my personal callsign in the "Operator" field.

I just did an ADIF export of the data so far, and discovered that the 1x1 call in the "Call" setup field does not exist in any record of the data. I'm baffled. What's the purpose of the "Call" field?

Don't I want these exported records to have the callsign I was using on the air in the contest?

Also: I understand that with LoTW I'll need to request a new callsign certificate for this special event 1x1 call sign, which I'll use to sign these QSOs as I upload them... but what's the correct/expected call sign that should appear in my QSO records?

Check out Genlog32. It is a lightweight logger that supports a boatload of contests. You can export an ADIF for ACL to gobble up when you are done.

It was my contest logger of choice for many years before I bought the N3FJP suite. I still use it occasionally for odd purposes.

Re: DING!

If you add the county prefix that will change the country.  The county abbreviation ios appended to the call to let contestant know where the rover is. It stops dupes.  In some State QSO Partys you may work the same rover a couple dozen times as he drives through the state.

Hi Dale,

Thanks for your e-mail.  My software checks for valid callsigns on entry and alerts you when you attempt to enter a call that does not have a number in the second or third position.

In the case of state QSO parties, mobile /  rover stations will often append the county they are now in, to let you know if they are in a new county, so that you can work them again.  This is not part of their call sign and you should not be entering the country abbreviation in the Call field, just the call sign.

Enjoy!

Apparently, ACL has a problem with no number in the portable prefix. It is what the station sent me—and everyone else he worked, and which LOTW recognizes as a valid portable prefix. Can this be fixed? Either by me or the ACL powers-that-be.

Dale,
Which version of the logger are you using? ACL or a contest/special event version?
In the ACL version of the logger, I do not see a "Portable Prefix" field.
I also checked two of the state QP loggers and neither of them have a "Portable Prefix" field.

Re: Addresses

Stop getting hung up on words.  Comments can be anything you want.  If you have AC Log setup to do QRZ lookups an address will appear in the comment field, but during a QSO you can add info like the station gear the other person is using.  You can put anything you want in comment field.  I use it to record station equipment.

I did spend several hours looking at the FAQ’s and watching videos. Still no luck, in fact, I may be a bit more confused. Apparently the address info goes in the “Comments” column. Nowhere can I find how “comments” came to define address. In some of my imported files I have actual comments in the comment file. Could these be preventing the column from importing addresses? Should I delete all of them, and lose a little history?

Under “Edit” there is no selection for address. There is a “QTH group” that can be selected but I have no idea of what that means.

I would be happy to click on each callsign if that would make the program attach the desired information. Right now, it won’t.

BTW, I did manually add a contact this morning, W1AW. It worked and came up with a mailing address in the “Comments” column.

I really need this to work, I have a lot of QSL’s that I want to mail and I need names and addresses.
