ACL and QRZ Syncing

Gord VA3TWT

I'm not sure if this a an ACL question or one I should pose to QRZ.  I would like to have the entries in my ACL log sync with my QRZ logbook.  I'm not even sure if this is do-able, but thought I would ask.  I'm prepared to pay for a QRZ subscription as long as I can sync my ACL log entries.

Thanks for any and all help.  I really like using ACL and don't want to switch programs.

Now is NOT the time to be getting anal about rules for a state QP.  Actually, I'd be relaxing rules.

I can't believe how few from my area are on HF.  It is truly a vast wasteland when it comes to HF OPs. I've mainly had my beam on Europe for the last month.  Have worked some who haven't been on the air for years, but the bands are nowhere near as active as one might imagine.

For the Mississippi QSO Party we have the following log submission requirements:

Each log must include a scoring summary showing the number of QSOs points, the multiplier,

and score. Logs without a scoring summary will be considered as a check log.

Exporting via adif or cabrillo does not bring in the scoring summary.  Is there something else we can do to bring in that information with our log?

I had a similar problem a few days ago. In looking at the raw info from, doing an "all confirmed" did not start at the beginning of the log. I had to to a "confirmed since" and change the date back to 1972.

I tried to find a batch process to delete the operator information in my log but could not find a solution. Is editing each QSO the only way to delete text in the operator field?

Now is also a good time for Amateur Radio OPs to learn CW, or to increase their CW speed.  I downloaded "CW Teacher" by Scott, N3FJP.  It's a great piece of software and I think I've increased my CW speed by 5 wpm since I've been using it.

Hi Scott, it is working good when I transfer data from contest log to my main log like I said before I put N3FJP_SPCNUM in the box instead of CWOPS, but it would be nice if I could tell the program to do the same with  ( N3FJP_SPCNUM) in the background and still use CWOPS as the name in the box, this could look like (N3FJP_SPCNUM)CWOPS, but I would only see CWOPS on my main screen, just an idea I had this Morning, probably the quanrantine.

Hi Ranmid,

Thanks for your e-mail.  I'm sorry that you have run into trouble.  That message is being returned from the TQSL software, not AC Log.

Larry is right.  TQSL is displaying that message, whether it is a date range issue, or invalid call sign in the Operator field of the QSOs you are trying to upload.

So I am new to this logger and still on the fence.  Here is my latest issue as of today and was uploading yesterday fine.  Today I have the error of out of date range and per log it is dated current and I checked TQSL and it is with in the data range specified.  So as a test I exported to ADIF and imported that into another logger.  It looked normal.  I exported those contacts again to a ADIF and directly uploaded to LoTW using TQSL.  It uploaded with no problem.   Then went back to ACLog and downloaded and got them checked as sent.  So what is the issue?

Our club operates the two Field Days (ARRL and Winter) and we use the Operator Field and Contest logs accounting for reporting individual performance as sort of a contest within a contest.  This recent change to TQSL and N3FJP programs negates that capability.  I doubt we're the only club to track this.

I'm probably too late to intercept the change, but if not I would like to suggest a checkbox approach for the exported N3FJP CONTEST log(s) for ADIF and Cabrillo uploads  where the options could be "Leave operator field blank" and "Insert station/club call in Operator Field."  This suggestion is consistent with the ADIF specification and also requires no change in the Cabrillo processing.  This way we could have our cake and eat it, too, regardless of TQSL changes because I see from the LOTW list that Rick Murphy isn't done making changes.

Operator Field With TQSL 2.5.2 & 2020 Field Day!

Scott Davis

Hi All,

I hope that you all are hunkering down, staying safe and doing well.  I have a couple quick announcements to share.

Operator Field in N3FJP Setup With TQSL 2.5.2

ARRL has just released TQSL version 2.5.2, which performs additional consistency checks on upload to LoTW.  With TQSL 2.5.2, the Operator field for the QSO records you are uploading must either be empty, or match your TQSL certificate call sign.

Please click Settings > Setup and make sure that the value in the Operator field is either empty or contains your call sign.  If the field contains a value other than your call sign and you have entered QSO records, TQSL 2.5.2 will not upload those records, so you will either need to edit those records, or make sure your LoTW uploads are up to date before upgrading to TQSL 2.5.2.

Until now, AC Log and all my contest software have warned about using a value other than a call sign in the Operator field, but allowed users to override the recommendation.  Future versions of my software will only allow a blank value or call sign in the Operator field on the Setup form.

More details on TQSL 2.5.2  are here:

Field Day 2020 - Encouraging the Echo Class!

ARRL recently wrote here:  http://www.arrl.org/news/field-day-2020-a-time-to-adapt

“Due to the unique situation presented this year, this can be an opportunity for you, your club, and/or group to try something new,” ARRL Contest Manager Paul Bourque, N1SFE, said. “Field Day isn’t about doing things the same way year after year. Use this year to develop and employ a new approach that is in line with the current circumstances.”

"Social distancing and state and local requirements very likely will impact just how — and even whether — you are able to participate in Field Day this year."

Following that release, I've been contacted by a number of folks, wondering if they could still set up a multi transmitter station for their club, with each transmitter at a different club member's house and logging in real time, networked over the Internet.  While using cloud storage or the TCP option may work, not only are these methods untested on a large scale with the Field Day software, they would not be applicable for Field Day 2020, given this Field Day rule (4.1 specifically) here:

http://www.arrl.org/files/file/Field-Day/2020/1_61-2020%20Rules.pdf

All equipment (including antennas) must lie within a circle whose diameter does not exceed 300 meters (1000 feet).

If social distancing is still in effect, your group is definitely going to have to operate individually this year.  Our group has already begun discussing and encouraging our members to set up / enhance our home emergency power backup systems (generators, batteries, solar, etc.) and plan to operate 1E (home station, emergency power) this year for 2020 Field Day.  Setting up a home station with emergency power takes some thought, research and planning, so it's a great topic for your club to discuss, a great opportunity to get started now and a great diversion, too!

Re: Double voice alert

I think I have resolved this issue.  I saw that I had clicked a box for audio alerts in the ID LoTW drop down dialog.... where you download updated LoTW user files.  This coupled with the check for audio alerts on new ones gave the double audio on LoTW user spots of new ones.

Re: Change selected QSO date.

Mike Olbrisch

Your LoTW call sign certificate has a start date and an end date.  If you try to enter QSOs before the start date, the LoTW certificate will not sign them.  If you try to enter a QSO for a date after the certificate expires, it will also not accept that.

You will need to renew your certificate and change the START DATE to the earliest date that you want to enter QSOs from or when the license was first issued to you.  Leave the end date blank.  If you had a previous call sign, you would need to request a certificate for that call, using the start date of either when it was issued or the earliest you want to enter QSOs from, and an end date for when the license was replaced.

For example, my former call KD9KC has a certificate that starts on 1-1-1980, and ends on 7-11-2013.  My new call KD5KC has a certificate that starts on 7-11-2013 and the end is left blank.

BTW, I entered my logs from 1980 forward.  It wasn’t worth going back to 1980.

Hope this is helpful.  Take care, stay well.
