Re: eQSL Callsign Matching

Hi Mark,

The affect that it will have on LoTW confirmations will depend on how the person uploading set up his call in TQSL.  If you want the confirmation, when in doubt, it is always good to ask during the QSO.

I guess I should have been more specific. One station was N8GU/4 indicating that he was operating out of the call area. Another was OZ75MAY/73, which I think is related to a special or an operating event.

If I go back and remove the slashed info (and put it in the comment), will that mess up LoTW matches?

The only reason a person would sign as an /AE was to show that he is allowed in the portion of the band. he took the extra test passed, but the fcc has not updated the database yet. aclog, eqsl, lotw could care less about it.
therefore logging his callsign without the /AE would be approprieate

I just started using eQSL with ACLog. I downloaded my inbox and noticed that a few calls were not matching and being flagged as confirmed by eQSL (with an E). In all cases, I think the problem was that I logged the contact with a /<extra> info, which is what the station was signing, but the record in the eQSL inbox didn't have the extra information.  Is there a way to make the match ignore the extra or should I not enter the extra. FWIW, ACLog had no problem properly identifying the country, although it did not properly find the HamCall record.

Hi John,

Thanks for your e-mail.  First, open your full log file by clicking File > Open, navigating to your log file and select it.

Then transfer your contest QSOs as detailed here:

If for some reason you need to restore from backup, this will get you going:

Because the laptop cannot connect  to the web, I cannot download new versions or versions from N3FJP that I do not already have, like the recent NEQSOP.

I tried backing up the folder “affirmatech”on my Desk computer to a thumb drive, and loading the folder onto the web deaf laptop.

Everything seemed to load as normal except there is no executable program in affirmatech, no NEQSOP.

Is this a security problem? Is this a folder problem?  How can I load N3FJP software from my online Desk computer to my offline laptop?

Probably a cockpit problem on my side….

Good morning
In the FLDIGI log settings you can set how it exports. I am not near the PC but i have exported via adif for years and now log direct from FLDIGI to ACL and either way it shows as psk31, olivia, thor, etc not as DIG.

Hope this helps

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your e-mail.  The mode value is being transferred from FLDigi to AC Log via the API.  Since FLDigi is providing the value, you should contact the FLDigi folks on this.

Hi All.  I do a lot of digital using fldigi.  My primary log is ACL, installed on a Windows 10 machine.  I also do digital on another station with an XP machine.  I periodically transfer log files from fldigi on the XP machine to ACL on the W-10 machine for permanent record.  That all works just fine.  I work PSK, Rtty, Olivia, and others.  The info all transfers over to ACL perfectly, identifying the modes that were worked.  However, If instead of transferring the data by ADIF, I use the fldigi connected to ACL by API so it transfers data in real time, it never includes the digital mode as part of the data.  They all come across simply as "DIG" although fldigi is accurately recording the mode used.   ACL tracks WAS, DXCC, etc. per mode and "DIG" is not one of the modes selectable from the list.  When I transfer data from an N3FJP contest logger, such as 7QP, it also shows it all as "DIG".  In that case, that's expected since the original contest logging program records it all as Digital without regard to the mode.  I want to track my contacts by each digital mode but I don't want to be required to do it by ADIF when the API is so convenient.  any thoughts?  Thanks!
By the way, - - I think all N3FJP software is the best out there!!

Thanks for the good report Bob.  My software copies the needed files from Program Files to the My Documents folder on program start.  For some reason, Windows or your Internet protection software blocked the copy of 7QPCounteies.txt.  Your remedy is fine, but I am wondering why this occurred.

What Internet protection software are you and Lance running?  I am guessing there is is false positive on that file (which is very strange, as it is only a text file).

I too am having trouble loading the county list. I load the 7QP software and then when I click on setting and fill it with WAGRN, my state and county, it comes back and tells me that it is not a valid county. I can click on the country list and it is populated but when I click on LIST it is not populated. I click on  download county files and it says an “exception occurred during a WebClient request”

In Documents in 7QP county Setting files There is not county’s there.

Not sure how to get them in there so the 7QP program can use them. The program works find just won’t let me confirm a county because there is nothing there to confirm the county.

Haven’t heard an answer to this one yet.

Well I just thought of something and found the fix. Well not sure but I have it working now.

I went to my OS( C ) and click on program files then n3fjp software-Affirmatech,7QP and then 7QPcounties. They are all there. So I copied the text document saved it and then went to MY documents and brought up the 7QP file and loaded my saved text file in with my county files in my documents and then when I brought up the N3FJP program again it came up with asking me to log in . Once I did that if came up and now it is working. I can enter WAGRN with a call and it works like it is suppose to.

Hope that helps someone else and you can understand how I did it.

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] Unable to install N3FJP disk

Scott and all,

I  bought from your full disk a while ago - nearly 2 months.

I installed it on my XP machine.  Except for a bunch of operator problems works great.  Still getting used to it.

Try to install it on my Win 8.1 machine.  Load the CD which reads it but it never asks me to install it.  Nothing happens.

Went to the controls setting and set it to ask me each time is installed - nothing happens.

Turned on AUTOPLAY too but nothing happens.

Any ideas.  I am not a guru on this stuff by any means.

Hi all,
I got the county list file figured out. I had to go to, file/ download county list file. And let it update. That fixed the problem. Tom I do have ver. 3.2. Thanks all. My other problem is I can not run rig interface and have my automatic antenna tuner working because the tuner get it's power from my rig. The tuner has a computer port to hook to, but I can't change frequencies from my computer.
My rig is a YAESU FT 857D, Tuner is LDG YT-100. Anyone has any ideas please let me know.

No state in the state field so don’t put AZ in the state and then AZPNL or PNL in the county just put AZPNL in the county.
