Field Day - Multiple Operator Logs?

My wife and I want to each operate FD with our own callsigns this year, which is allowed for family stations.

What is the best way to do this with N3FJP FD software?
If I just load a new log file from the same logging window, it keeps the Operator callsign from the other log and I would have to go back into setup each time to change the Operator.

Should I have the logging program installed in 2 folders on the PC and restart it from different shortcuts?  Speed isn't a big deal, we're not going for maximum contacts, just to have fun.

Hi Scott,
I got the Club Score Processor working and it’s a fantastic tool! Our members are thrilled to have it up and running.

Question:  Is it possible to take the settings and data created on one PC and move it to another PC?

I set this up for the club on a new website but have been using a relic laptop that’s open to malware. Someone else in the club is willing to manage the program on one of their computers.

Thanks for your help!

Scott,

I am experiencing the same problem and shamefacedly I admit that I was too smart for myself that I was too smart for myself and admit I deleted the N3FJP directory in the C:\Program Files (x86) directory and still encountered the message.

I use CCleaner to clean up stuff but neither that not your recommendation above would bring out N3FJP to be deleted. If it is not tipping your hand, to you also search the registry or other locations to check for a previous version.

Thanks!

I can do the same, a bit cumbersome in a contest. Ctrl X with select the other rig quickly but the com port and key line A or B is not saved.
In a contest with 2 rigs, IE 7300 on 6m and 9700 on 1-1.2, you wand seamless quick change. The ctrl-x function is a great asset IF the rig configuration file kept track of WinKey settings.
It ALMOST works but not quite!

Tim, Scott.

I have two winkeyers. One is connected to an Icom 746, the other to a Yaesu FT-101DX. They're both on separate
serial ports. Switching radios is quick and easy. Select rig interface and select the other rig, then  select cw transmit
setup and select the other serial port for the winkeyer. Only trick is remembering which port goes with which function,
rig 1, rig2, keyer 1, keyer 2.

I would think that maybe adding the tx key port number to the saved rig interface would be relatively simple and not
require any change to the winkeyer code at all.

I took a chance that WinKey com address was saved with each rig, bought a second WinKey.
That did not work either.
Is it terribly hard to save winkeyer info like com port address for each radio?
I am sure many SO2R opps would like to see that happen.

ADIF Master works very well. Another method would be to use an enhanced text editor like Notepad++ to do a text search-and-replace on the ADIF file, assuming it has only the contacts that you need to change. Of course it requires a working knowledge of how ADIF fields work but it's really dead simple once you figure it out.

Re: Importing possible dupes in FD 6.3?

Hi Ray,

Thanks for your e-mail. You've covered a lot of ground, but the short answer is yes, click File > Remove Duplicates to remove duplicates.  You should log in real time from WSJT via JTAlert, connected to the Field Day software as detailed here, to ease the logging process and further eliminate potential errors:

Finally and most importantly, since you will be operating from home, you will NOT be merging your log with the logs of your other club members, so you don't have to worry about dupes from other stations.  Details are here (I just posted this to the group yesterday):

Hello all/Scott,

Ray N6HE here…

I plan to operate FD 1E at home this year and will no doubt be using a bunch of FT4. I’ve figured out how to avoid working dupes in WSJT-X  (start a new log right before FD), but I’m worried that most FD participants won’t, and will be logging (presumably for credit) same-band-mode dupes, and not calling new stations for the contest, but whom they’ve worked in the past.

Soooo, my question is: when a person, after FD, imports a WSJT-X ADIF file of FT4/8 QSO’s into N3FJP FD 6.3, will the dupes be gobbled up and counted for credit? I see “remove duplicates under the rules of the contest” is a choice – will this remove same-band-mode (FT8/FT4/DIGITAL) QSOs and if so which will be deleted (although it won’t matter if all we submit is a dupe sheet, but if a Cabrillo file is submitted, a whole bunch of NIL’s are going to be there if each station removes the one the other is keeping).

Your thoughts?

Hi Ray,

Why would you have to start a new FD log before the contest?  It is already a new one when you start.  And why would you load an ADIF to the FD logger when all of the Qs are already there from when you logged them during FD.  I’m confused.
