All that and much more is in the help page I pointed out earlier.  It will take you less time to look it up and read it than it will someone typing it all in for you.  Not being a jerk….. it really is all there.  There are several files that contain all your data.

I know this has probably been answered already but if I move from one computer to another, other than the database file, which files do I need to copy to make sure I have the same layout and extra fields I have created from the other fields in ACLog?

Considering I work in software support and management I know a bit more than you think. Looking at all the N3FJP software, it's clear a central template/framework is used. Programs are made by picking and choosing what parts to use, and them finishing it up with scoring and other contest-specific features. It's not like each program is made from scratch, that would be insane.

Andrew, you clearly have no idea what you're asking and demonstrably less knowledge about programming and support of software products.

I suggest you prepare a list of your detailed requirements then perform an online search for freelance programmers.  You may find one who can provide you what you're looking for and it may cost less than 100 times more than what you paid for the superb suite of N3FJP logging programs.  If you find someone who's really good, you may have your ideal universally configurable logging program in only a year or two.  Of course, support will be solely on you, but you will be on your way to having exactly what you want.

Good luck and 73,

It's not messing it up, it's improving it. You don't have to be condescending.

As for the other point, it doesn't even have to score for you. I'm just looking for something to log my contest qsos, with the tools included like the radio interface and callsign check.

If someone has a program that will do those things please let me know. I feel like ACL has everything I'm looking for, but it's also lacking in this specific instance. Someone mentioned using custom fields, but in the FAQ that isn't suggested so I didn't know about it.

I was thinking that it sounds to me like somebody needs to start their own program, and make it free and open source so everyone can modify it.

Me?  I haven’t the first clue about programming, and I am pretty damn happy that Scott did what he did, does what he does, and somehow still manages to smile when trying to talk people through problems.  How well I know, I would have been hung at V3.x for a couple of years without his direct and time consuming intervention.  $50 is a pittance for all that.

This is why I try to step in and help where I can. And with that said, I wish everyone (including me) would remember the help resources that Scott has provided.  Please, save this link.  Many difficulties can be corrected right here.

Getting more seasoned (not older) sometimes is purely distracting.  Based on what you are telling me, how, in the past did they turn green immediately.  Guess it makes no difference as long as I understand what is going on.

Re: request for ACLog

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your e-mail.  You aren't limited to modes in the drop down list.  You can type in any mode that you like, which is usually quicker than having to do a mouse grab anyway.  That said, I went ahead and added MFSK32 to the mode list.  Just click File > Download Country Files from AD1C (which also updates your mode list file) and it will appear when you restart AC Log.

Enjoy!

I noticed tonight, that under the "mode" drop down list, there is no option for MFSK32 which is pretty widely used around here for our digital nets - is this something that could be added in the next update?
