Hi Pat,

Thanks for your e-mail.  Just connect to DXSpots.com on port 23.  When you click Done on the DX Spotting set up form with the connection active, the site that you are connected to will be added to your drop down list for the future.

Enjoy!

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] Telnet Host - Auto Reconnect

After I updated to v.6.8 yesterday I went into DX Spots and checked Auto Reconnect.  Apparently the host went down over night and it did not “auto reconnect” so I tried manually reconnecting.  I’m still without spots.  I also noticed on the pull-down the only available Telenet Host is DXC.VE7CC.NET.  I used to have about 4 or 5 selections I could go to like AE5E and several others but they are all gone.  Also I no longer appear to have the ability to edit this list so I can re-add all the missing hosts.

Any idea how to:

  1. Reconnect to DX Spots.
  2. Edit the pull-down to add more Telnet Hosts.
  3. Get a list of available hosts.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Setup Question for my 7300

Kenneth W. Campbell

You might want to go into the settings menu and set “Unlink USB from Remote.”

A that point, you have two separate line of communication with the radio: the CI-V I/O and the USB cable.

Give it a try, can’t hurt and is easily reversible. GL OM!

Hi Mel and Roy,

Thank you for the assistance. Changing Baud Rate to 19,200 (in the CI-V) did not change anything. When I select Connection Power to None, it did not find the rig when polling. As for the USB cable, I have a Tripp-Lite, which is a highly recommended cable with shielding and ferrites on it. I'll do some more digging today.

Thanks,
Scott

I would set 'Connection Power' to 'None' and see if that cures your problem. Let us know. 73

Re: ACL: Managing Large Database

Hi John,

Thanks for your e-mail.  Lou is correct, listing all 152K records into the ListView control takes a good bit of time, so it is much better to use the Last 50 option and just do searches for whatever you may be looking for.

Enjoy!

In the Blue Bar at the top try selecting 50.  Maybe you have "All" checked?

Is there a recommended procedure to manage the database in smaller chunks? Is there a recommended max number of contacts in a database?

Three things might help:
1) set the baud rate to what the radio is set at
2) set connection power to none
3) use a usb cable that has ferrites on it. (if 1 and 2 solve the problem you can do 3 at your leasure

Re: How can I get FLDIGI, my radio, and N3FJP logbook all on same Com port 4?

Bill Grover

Or use the contest logger and under rig control choose ACLog API and the contest logger will send all rig commands to the main ACLog program to be sent to your rig.

Also after the contest instead of doing the ADIF export/import to copy your contacts choose the option in the File menu to use the API to transfer.  This will copy all contacts to the other logger in a fraction of a second.

You could always just use the contest logger and not ACLog during the contest. After the contest, just do an ADIF export from the contest logger and import that ADIF to ACLog. All Scott's contest loggers include the same rig control as that in ACLog.

What were your settings. I kept having issues where I only have one Enhanced port and my radio and FLDIGI works, but I could not add RTTY contes logger from N3FJP to the mix. It kept saying Com 4 conflict or in use.
