recall function & list matches

mikedsokc

I never really saw a need for the Recall command, until now. Now
that we have the list match feature I can hit Recall and see if I
need a QSL on one of the fields. The only problem is, you can only
recall the last entry. Can you add a feature so that you could
recall the selected entry?

Re: recall & DX Spotting?

Scott,

So basically it would be an option in the menu instead that you could check.  Then while. it's checked every entry that you would enter into the log would be spotted.  Is this how it would work?  If so, sounds great to me!

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the suggestion.  Let me give that some thought.  Off the cuff I don't see any reason I couldn't populate the fields when you click on a contact.

On another note, we have been kicking around the idea of a check box to send a DX spot on entry.  Would there be any objection if I made that a menu option instead?  That eliminates the need for adding and customizing another control to the main form.

Scott, my personal preference would be the "check box" on the main  screen. That way I can decide on a spot-by-spot basis. But I can certainly use these options. Just would like to simplify the spotting process. Going to the Dx Spotting Setup and hitting Spot Last and then entering additional comments is slow. BUT, that is much better than going to an entirely different program to start the process. With either option you chose to go with, can you tag a field like "Other 4" to be sent also, then we can enter comments that we want sent with the spot?

BTW, did you find anything on the Search Function?

Hi Matt,

Yes, actually I was thinking of two options:

Spot DX on entry (contacts <> your country would be spotted)
Spot All on entry (all contacts entered would be spotted)

If either of the menu options were checked they would perform their stated function.  If not, the entry would not be spotted.

VHF Contest Logger and TS-2000

Jack Crabtree

Is anyone using the VHF contest logger program with a TS-2000? I
cannot get the radio to change bands on the log when I change the
radio. When I try the connect test, I get "no response". Yet when I
go to the screen to make the radio change frequency, it works fine. I
have all the settings correct but "no response". Any help out there?

Re: VHF Contest Logger and TS-2000

Hi Jack,

Thanks for your e-mail. I don't have a 2000 here to test for rig
interface (not yet anyway, I've been drooling over that rig), but
I've had other good reports from those who have. I'm not aware of
anyone having to change the default settings. Just make sure that
you are using VFO A and that you have selected the proper power
setting for your interface.

If there is someone else using the rig interface with a Kenwood 2000
on this e-mail list please chime in.

I am using the Kenwood TS-2000 radio and the rig interface works fine. Here
are my settings:

Rig: Kenwood
CommPort: 5
Baud Rate: 9.6k
Parity: None
Data Bits: 8
Stop Bits: 1
Connection Power: RTS
Radio Polling Rate: 500ms
Check box for "Use Frequency"
Check circle for "Rig" in Use Mode By

I adore this radio by the way.

2.4 Bug report??

Edward Leicester <kg4qmi@...>

Scott, just noticed something. On the Rig Interface, the software does not recognize FM/AM in Modes. If I change from SSB to CW it changes to CW. If I change from CW to either AM or FM it goes back to SSB. If I change from SSB to either AM or FM nothing happens

Settings are as follows:

ICOM
9600, N,8,1
RTS
2sec
Mode BV= Rig
String to use has (40) in both

Rig is Icom 736

Just curious if anyone else has seen this.

Hi Edward,

Thanks for your e-mail.

Yes, right now only SSB and CW modes are read via rig interface. I
plan to read additional modes in future enhancements.

If you would like to log another mode but still want ACLog to read
the frequency you can select "Don't Use" in the mode options box on
the Rig Interface form and then enter the mode manually.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

ADIF output Question

Richard <n4ndr@...>

Is it possible to output the Other1 info into the saved adif file. I
have renamed Other1 to QTH and would like to have that data in the
adif saved file. Even if it is named Other1 I can change it with an
editor to QTH. Such as <Other1:7>WARWICK would be changed to
<QTH:7>WARWICK....

Re: ADIF output Question

Scott Davis

Hi Richard,

ACLog presently does not include the "Other" fields in the ADIF output.  What I could do is let the user enter the ADIF output tag along with the header.  If there is a tag then output the file.  I'll keep that in mind.
