I activated the GRID box and placed next to the State Box. I do see the incoming Grid Data but the box is a little narrow to have the full 6 digit Grid displayed. Is there a way to resize these boxes? JoAnn Donaldson - AB8YZ

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] QRZ.com checked..., I’m wondering what I’ve missed doing now.
I’ve checked the Callbook/QRZ.com checkbox.
When I work a station, on WSJT-X for instance, I don’t see any QRZ.com info included in the newly logged QSO. No State, County, Name, Grid Square (if WSJT-X didn’t pick up the GS when I called the station).
I found that If, before the QSO gets logged by WSJT-X, I enter the callsign in the logger Call entry field below the logsheet and press SPACEBAR, the call’s info comes up. If I leave it, and click OK on WSJT-X log window to log the QSO, then and only then, does the logger include the call’s QRZ.com info—Name, State, County, Grid Square.
Are the extra steps of pre-entering the call sign in the Call field really necessary? Am I missing a checkbox somewhere to make it happen automatically through software? After all, isn’t that what software is for?

Hi Dave,
In addition, you can press Ctrl + Shift + G to send the macro automatically as you tab from the Call field.

When you go to CW setup on the right you can scroll down. this is an excerpt from that. it answer your question. so if you put in the F3 block a $ it would take the value that is in the call box and transmit it. neat things if say you wanted to send your name rst and serial number in F4 it would look like Dave * #
hope this helps

Wildcards that you can insert in your string are:
$ for Call (Sends main form Call field value)
* for RST (sends RST value or 5NN if blank)
# for the next consecutive Serial Number (where applicable).
% for current county abbreviation (state QSO Party programs only).

You have to modify the function key macros:
Settings | Transmit | CW Setup Insert the $ character in the macro at the position you want to send the other station's callsign. Gary, N8LR

In a contest, when a station responds to your CQ, how do you type in their call sign, and send your exchange using the f keys? Seems like you should be able to enter their call in the call sign field and then tap a key to send the call sign and then an f key to send the exchange. Can anyone give me a step by step?

With any software you purchase from Scott, he’ll give you a product code for it. Just go to File à Register and enter your call and the product code. Be certain to copy that product code on your computer, specifically other than the C drive

Let us know the outcome, I’m getting ready to purchase the software. Hello, all. I have 1,710 strings on my laptop for this software since first subscribing to the list on 11.29.18 and have never seen this question/problem before:
When starting N3fjp today, I was directed to repurchase the software because my " free trail ' was going to expire on 10.18.20. I did purchase the software and cable some time ago. Did I miss something? i THOUGHT it was a forever license..
Anyway, I can NOT access my program to enter new QSO's or to view my data. The prompt screen is demanding that I enter call sign, lat/long, etc. data. as a new user
Any ideas would be helpful.
By the way, I really enjoy the program and this is the first time that I have had a problem with it since buying about 2 years ago. HELP, PLEASE 73

Hi Joe,
Use the same product key that you used when you 1st paid for the software. What I did was to save the list of codes as I bought Scott’s entire suite of software. Just go to Fileà Register and you will be prompted to enter your call and the specific key for the software you use.
I hope this helps

Hi Tom,
Thanks for your e-mail. You can click the Overwrite Existing Data option on the LoTW form if you want, but it isn't recommended for the reasons explained when you select the option.

I have recently moved to this logging program from another, and really like it so far. I have a question LOTW, and how N3FJP deals with differences between the submitted log entry, and the matched QSO on LOTW. For example if I enter a different grid square or state (perhaps that was auto filled from QRZ), than the matching QSO on LOTW has. Will I be alerted to this, and be allowed to correct my log? Or will the differences automatically be merged? Thanks! Tom NL7WK
