Re: ACL Dx Speak DX item
Scott Davis
Hi Sean,
Thanks for your e-mail. Spots are spoken async, so that there is no delay in the software while a spot is spoken. The trade off is what you describe. We will give that some thought for the future.
Thanks for your kind words on the latest beta!
Enjoy!

I have 9K+ contacts logged in Excel.
Excel is working really nice for me in many ways but I really need to graduate to a real database logger. ALL 9K+ of my contacts are uploaded to QRZ, eQSL, ClubLog and LoTW but what I upload is a subset of that I log in Excel. I'm attempting to migrate over the ACLog. I'm aware there is a conversion tool to translate Excel to something ACLog can import but I have no faith it could work right so haven't looked at it (maybe I should). I believe it won't work because some of my Excel fields don't map very well to ADIF parameters. I purchased ACLog and have it configured (fields, columns, Other#, etc) they way I want it. In trying to figure out how to convert over, I have approached it from an ADIF point of view. I have a list of ADIF fields that I use when logging online, what data I track in Excel that I want to track in ACLog but don't currently log or map to ADIF, and I have enter a short test log in ACLog and exported it to see what ADIF it produces. Now I'm trying to decide how to manipulate and move the data. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.... Questions: 1. When I redefine an Other# field, why does ACLog output is in the export ADIF file twice, once with my new title and once with the old "Other#" name? Can I get ACLog to quit outputting the "Other#" line? 2. I'm assuming that when I use an Other# field to log an actual ADIF parameter that I have to name the Other# the exact name (ignoring case) specified in the ADIF spec. i.e. My_Rig. Correct? 3. What are all the parameters in the ACLog-exported ADIF file starting with "N3FJP" for? Do those get uploaded to LoTW? Can those be turned off? 4. A more general question I guess would be, do I have any control what ADIF parameters ACLog exports/uploads? 5. This is really a broad question... what should I do and consider when I do get the database moved to ACLog as it relates to the fact that the data is already uploaded to eQSL, ClubLog and LoTW? Will ACLog gracefully deal with that? Thanks in advance! N7AY |

Dupe nonsense
I'm in the middle of the 160 SSB contest using the CQ WW 160 Contest Log v5.0.1. I entered a call that I had worked before and got the "DUPE" warning, which is fine. But I accidentally hit the TAB key and the program put my radio into transmit for a second or two. Is this normal and if so, why? I do have Allow Dupes turned off, so I can see the program not allowing me to log the contact but it should keep its hands off my radio.

Re: QRZ lookup not entering name
Hi Scott
I do that but still the name field does not become occupied. So I go to QRZ, plug in the call and the name there. best 73's -- Phil K2JF |

Re: How to set up N3FJP Contest logger for the ARRL International SSB contest
Mel - N7GCO - Cheney, WA
I made a short video for several in our club showing how to set up N3FJP Contest logger for the ARRL International SSB contest. It is on the Spokane DX YouTube Channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvbjHXsjQv4
If you are new to contesting or simply want a reminder of how to set up N3FJP contest logging, check out the video. The is a great contest for everyone to pick up some new countries. It is voice, so everyone can do it. N3FJP contest log is very simple to use.
You can be totally set up for the contest from scratch in under 20 minutes.

Trying to place PODXS on screen
#aclog
What I am trying to do is position PODXS next to my POTA field. But I can't seem to position them side by side. I have deleted QSl send and RCD. I don't need the comments bar on the screen. When I put PODXS on the screen it show up in my logging screen.

Gabe,
On the main screen click List > QSO with unconfirmed > Countries.
Works well for countries and states.
I wish there was more search criteria, like IOTA and Grids though.

DO I have a way, with ACLog, to know which countries I worked but not confirmed? For instance, I have 224 worked countries (all bands, all modes), 149 of them are confirmed. I need to know which are the remaining 75. Thanks. Gabe. -- --... ...-- -.. . .. --.. ....- .- .--. ..- - ..- . . Sent from TB on Windows 10, Genus Bononiae's computer. |

Re: QRZ lookup not entering name
Scott Davis
Hi Phil,
Thanks for your e-mail. After you enter the call sign, instead of clicking on something with your mouse, just press space bar or the tab key to tab to the next field. That will initiate callbook lookup. As long as your QRZ account is in good standing the name will appear.
Enjoy!

Seems odd.
