Reboot, and try that one more time. Something else is using Port 3 or Port 3 is not the correct port for the Kenwood, either by your error or somehow the port has changed.

Open device manager and plug and unplug the USB cable and confirm that port 3 appears and disappears.

Re: Frustrated as all get out!!!!!!!!!

Chris  KX5ALC,

I am also using ACL & a 590SG in a very simple fashion with no other hardware or software.

I am using the Kenwood2 choice in the rig setup tab.

Nothing else can use the Com 3 port

All I do is turn on the 590 first then start ACL and all should is good for me.

ACL reads & populates Band, Frequency and Mode.

Hi John,

Thanks for your e-mail. From the menu options click Settings > Reset Columns to Default > Main List Widths.

That will do the trick.

Enjoy!

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] Missing header and log data

Hi
Strange problem here.  Opened ACLog 7.0.3 today and noticed all qso record numbers located in Record column
showed only the first digit of record number.  I.e., there are 10,065 records and only the first digit of each record number
appears in the log.  Also, some column headings are missing letters, only first letter of callsign prefixes show, only the year
of contact appears without day/month. Any ideas as to what issue could be causing this?  Could it be fixed by uninstalling/reinstalling ACLog.
or waiting for new update before installing?  See attached screenshot.
Thanks, John N1AM

Ok Scott and Kimberly. I am fixing to change computers with ACLOG. What is the best way to transfer to the new computer ? ADIF or MDB file. So I won't loose my POTA contacts ??

Thanks for getting back with me, Mike.

Okay............. the particulars:

PC, custom built.  Windows 10.  Kenwood TS-590SG.

I know this isn't the SDR  Uno forum, but I did get the Uno program to start tracking, so that problem is no longer a consideration.

Greetings Chris -

I think you have identified your problem - now we just need to figure out a solution. It sounds like it is a COM port problem. For some reason, COM port 3 that the radio needs is being used by something else before the radio gets turned on.

Although I may not be able to walk you trough the solution, I am sure others will be along who can. But first we will all need some additional info.

What computer system  - PC or Mac?  If PC, what version of Windows?

Frustrated as all get out!!!!!!!!!

Chris Christenberry

I've had the Amateur Logging program for a couple of weeks now.  Rockin' right along.  Everything seemed to be working like clockwork.  Frequency was following both my Kenwood TS-590SG and the SDR Uno program.  Then seemly for no reason the logging program stopped following my rig.  To my knowledge, I did nothing to initiate the change.  I've had all sorts of problems because I keep getting a message saying Com Port 3 isn't available.  When I went to check, Com Port 3 was missing.  Messed around with all sorts of things and then, as if by magic, Com Port 3 showed up in my list again.  Was able to get the Logging program to hook up to the radio.........until I turned it off.  Been searching and reading all over this forum and trying things I've read.  Then my Uno stopped following the rig.  Turned off the logging program and turned it back on and there's no following of the frequency.  So no neither Uno or Amateur Logging will follow my rig.  I've been yanking on my hair so hard I've little left.  I'm fairly tech illiterate, so for me to get this far with it is a great accomplishment..............but I'm still not there..........not getting the N3FJP software to follow my rig without failing later.

If anyone has the patience to walk me through this labyrinth, I'd sure appreciate it.

Re: New rig. Same problem with transmit audio files

AlanW4WMM

Hello all,

I have exactly the same problem with my Kenwood TS-590SG and discovered a work-around by accident.
When I press the corresponding "F" key, the radio keys up but no audio is broadcast.
Unplugging the USB cable from the rig to the PC will cause the audio to play through the speakers of the PC but of course no rig control.

Work-around...
Pressing the corresponding "F" key TWICE.
First press keys the rig.
Second press plays the audio file.

Does anyone know a way to make this work with ONE key press?

Thanks for the reply Scott, while you are here is there a different designator letter for Eqsl and LOTW as I have to load new qso's there as well?

Hi Scott, I think I spoke too soon in my last reply to you. I followed your instructions, but it didn't seem to work. Shut the program down and reopened it, and wa la! It worked.

Thanks so much for your help. I wouldn't have figured it out in a billion years.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your e-mail.  I'm not familiar with RigBlaster, so insights from others might be needed, but two things....

- After you click Test and your rig is correctly polling, don't click End Test.  Instead, just click Done.

-  For the power options on the rig interface form, try setting it to None.

Enjoy!

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] Rig Interface Polling won't stop

Help if you can.

I have a Yaesu 897 and the Winter Field Day software, using a rigblaster plug and play between radio and PC. I setup the rig interface as per the suggestion on the righelp FAQ. So when I press the test button everything seems to be working. I see the frequency above the test button, so I end test. Then I click on the following buttons: done > ok polling but then the transmit light on radio does not go off and I can not transmit.

I experimented and said no to polling, but if I close the software program and reopen it, I have the same issue with the transmission locking. So I go in and disable it in the settings.

Has anyone had this issue before? I could find anything searching through past posts.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Brian, va3bah

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your e-mail.  List and then select all the records in your log.  Then click Edit > Mark Selected Records as QSL > Sent.  The default designation for Club Log is B.

Enjoy!

Re: MN and BC QSOP #contest

David Latour

Now I'm cooking with gas, thanks, Scott. For my set up anyway, ACLog must be the server with rig control, not one of the contest loggers. Janet's reply seemed to suggest I could use one of the contest loggers as the rig-control server, but that didn't work here. I'm ready for MN/BC QSOP - bring it on!
