Hi Fidel,

Thanks for the report.  Please provide an example or two of a duplicate record in your log.  Were you using 7.5.0.1 or 7.5.0.2?

Thanks!

Scott,

I gave your new Beta software a good test even in some tough band conditions.  I made 34 contacts utilizing FT4 and FT8.  Used both JTAlert and your API for logging from WSJT-X.  Never a hiccup at any time.  Here’s a screen shot of the last few contacts.

I see that you will have another Beta out for testing due to the slash issue but other than that, it looks good and my QRZ folks will be ecstatic.  Thanks again for another great improvement.

Hi All,

We are currently in the process of adding direct interface with QRZ Logbook and are ready for beta testing!  Direct interface from external logbooks to QRZ is only provided by QRZ to premium subscribers, such as their XML callbook.  If you are a premium QRZ subscriber, would you please do the following:

-  Backup your existing log or click File > Save As to start working with a test log.  The letter Q will be added to the Sent and Received Confirmed By fields, so you will want to be able to recover from backup if something goes awry.

-  Download AC Log 7.0.5.1 Beta from this link:

-  From AC Log's menu options click eLogs > QRZ and enter your QRZ Logbook key.  You will find your QRZ Logbook on the QRZ web site under the Logbook Settings API Key.  Click Show to display the key:

Capture.PNG

-  Go ahead and try the QRZ upload and download features, which work similarly to LoTW and eQSL.  If you try to upload more than 99 records from within the software at once, AC Log will suggest that you upload via ADIF, but you can continue if you wish.

Please note that there is not a QRZ upload button on the main form when you select one or more records, like LoTW and eQSL, but you can still upload selected records.  There are already too many buttons on the main form and the customizable nature of the form makes adding additional buttons even more problematic.  Please just click eLogs > QRZ to bring up the QRZ form after selecting any records you wish to upload.

Please let us know how you make out!

Re: June VHF Log Files Workflow #contest

Hi Tim,

I dropped Paul, N1SFE, ARRL Contest Program Manager a query on whether any modifications were required in the VHF contest software to accommodate the new sub categories in the VHF contests last week.  The short answer is no, that will be handled on the ARRL Cabrillo submittal site when you submit your log, as Larry's image demonstrates.  If you are getting different results from the ARRL site, you should check with ARRL on that.

Paul's reply with more detail follows:

Hi Scott,

The default response from the uploader when uploading a log with analog and digital contacts is ALL, but I don’t think that adding an all mode drop down would really be necessary.

The category selection on the ARRL uploader for VHF is driven by the selections checked off on the web page, and not by the Cabrillo header.  We do preserve whatever is in the headers for reference, but the web page drives the category selection that is passed onto the log checker, and used for the entry.

Contest:               ARRL-VHF-JUN  [contest rules]
Call Sign:              N0CALL
Category:            Single Operator, Low Power        Original category switched because: Reported power exceeds limit for VHF 3-BAND
Operator:            SINGLE-OP          Created from Number of operators question (Answer: Only one)
Mode:  ALL         Created from Mode question (Answer: All modes, including digital)

I used the VHF Contest log for the for my second contest (the first was the Digital Contest last week) and first VHF Contest.  Set up was super easy and the format made it easy for me to know that I was getting the info I needed.

A friend of mine  was using paper logs for contesting and wanted to go electronic and I recommended the N3FJP package.  He purchased it and has entered his logs and submitted them already.

If I get hooked on contesting it will be the fault of Scott and his crew for making it so easy to record and submit logs!  The admin chores was a reason I had never really bothered before.

One feature suggestion: a countdown timer on the page that lets you know when the contest ends.  Obviously the end user would have to set the end date and time prior to the contest, but I think it would be handy.  I had to look up the end time a couple of times over the weekend as it wasn't a straight 24 hour contest.  Although 6M digital going suddenly dead was a clue....

Thanks for the great programs.
