ARRL does't ask they expect to find it in Cabrillo file.

Good Morning all,
How do I upload to alternate eQSL accounts. I have VK3XCI/P and AX3XCI which already have entries so I've obviously managed before, or I've uploaded  adif files.

Re: Get Ready for the ARRL June VHF Contest! [Sub Categories Handled on ARRL Web Site]

Randy Allen

I used the VHF Contest log for the for my second contest (the first was the Digital Contest last week) and first VHF Contest.  Set up was super easy and the format made it easy for me to know that I was getting the info I needed.

A friend of mine  was using paper logs for contesting and wanted to go electronic and I recommended the N3FJP package.  He purchased it and has entered his logs and submitted them already.

If I get hooked on contesting it will be the fault of Scott and his crew for making it so easy to record and submit logs!  The admin chores was a reason I had never really bothered before.

One feature suggestion: a countdown timer on the page that lets you know when the contest ends.  Obviously the end user would have to set the end date and time prior to the contest, but I think it would be handy.  I had to look up the end time a couple of times over the weekend as it wasn't a straight 24 hour contest.  Although 6M digital going suddenly dead was a clue....

Thanks for the great programs.

Hi Frank,

Load your ADIF into the contest logger, which I assume you were using to begin with, and then export from there.

Hi Name?

No -- it's a dB.  You can export an ADIF, but not a Cabrillo from ACLog.

Re: New laptop user---

John Allen

Thank you, Scott for persuading me to take up the challenge of my HP function keys again. I tried a couple of years ago and did not fully understand how to make it work. I actually thought that it was impossible. There is some documentation on the internet.

Now there are two confusing parts to me, one new, one old. It is in the UEFI settings on my HP Pavilion x360. To get there after putting in my PIN, I had to go to Settings\Updates & Security\Advanced Start\Troubleshooting (I think)\(something like) Restart in BIOS. It took me a couple of attempts to track this down. The old confusing thing was that the entry to enable/disable is called “Action Keys”. Bring up the dialog box and pick “Disable”. I am now really enjoying using the function keys on one of my practice programs.

I hope that this will be helpful to someone with a  similar problem. It is from memory so it may not be exact but it will lead in the right direction.

Thank you again,

Hi Dale,

Thanks for your e-mail.  If you have the software configured properly and your F keys are still not working, some PCs are distributed in such a way that their keyboards are mapped to other functions besides the F keys. If that's the case, you'll need to check the documentation for your PC and properly map your F keys for normal use.

Modern laptop and desktop keyboards have a multi-purpose set of keys in the “function” row. These keys can perform special actions related to the audio volume, playback, and hardware features. They can also function as the classic F1-F12 keys — but not at the same time. These keys will often perform special actions by default, but you may want to use them as standard F-keys.

Rather than holding down the Fn key every time you press a key, you can choose what they do by default as detailed here:

https://www.howtogeek.com/235351/how-to-choose-whether-your-function-keys-are-f1-f12-keys-or-special-keys/

Enjoy!

Greetings everyone;

I too and getting the bugs worked out for FD, so question before I hit the panic button.

Setting up a laptop for keyboard cw, my first laptop

Was able to convert everything using my 7300 settings except my function keys.

The laptop uses a dual function on the function keys.

I have some test messages set up and they work fine off the mini screen using the mouse

If I try to use the function keys though I get the alternate function, i.e. sound+, sound -, mute, airplane mode, brightness, etc.

I have no clue how to change them……as all of you know computers and windows 10 do not come with manuals for us dummies

Anybody have any idea what button to push?

Windoze 10 and HP laptop

TIA

(Gawd, I feel so dumb)
