Re: Rig Frequency adjust for transverter

Scott Davis

Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions Lawrence.  That adds a lot of user configuration complexity, I'm not sure how we would present that in an intuitive way to users and I see even more support questions coming if we were to head in that direction, but we will give it some thought for the future.

Enjoy!

Scott,

Some observations (and perhaps future enhancements):

1) I use my 706 as an exciter for my transverters (IF is 10m) and for 6m/2m/70cm during the same contest.  Would it be possible to select the band that the transverter offset gets added, rather than all?
2) Also I change frequencies on the 706 by typing the new freq in the call window.  Would it be possible to enter the transverter output frequency, and then have CAT control change the transmitter freq  less the transverter offset?

I know how busy you are, so if you put these in your list of things to do that would be great!

Thanks for the great support and products.

Re: Please Test AC Log Beta 7.0.3.11!

Hi Larry,

In addition to Mitch's good words, don't click End Test.  Just click Done.  If that doesn't correct the problem, from the Texas QSO party software, while your rig is being correctly polled, click Save Settings.  Then start AC Log, click Load Settings and select the file you saved.

The above will likely do the trick, but if you continue to have trouble, please send a screen shot of your rig interface form and let us know which rig you are interfacing.

On the Rig Interface Setup window, make sure that Use Frequency on Main Form is checked.  The checkbox is located right below the Radio Polling Rate.

Re: Please Test AC Log Beta 7.0.3.11!

Scott Davis

Thanks Kevin.  We've not been able to duplicate what you've documented on any of our PCs here, but we did receive a report from a Mac user running Parallels of something similar.

We are using a third party mapping plug in, so there is actually not a huge amount we can do to tweak the way the maps display overall.  I have a very old laptop where the maps take several seconds to load and sometimes the marker is posted twice.

We will keep trying and investigate other solutions too, but that could be a long process.  Since the new map feature is working fine for most folks and doesn't inhibit other functionality of the software, for the few where the display is occasionally off, the next release (which needs to be soon to fulfill the POTA sponsor's request for the new dupe checking features) may be coded about where things are now.  We will of course continue to work towards enhancing the map's performance and functionality in future releases.

Thanks again!

I can confirm this action, and it is repeatable.

When I first open ACLog, if I then click “View>Gray Line Map” it opens as pictured.
If I then open World Map, it opens normal.
If I open “View>World Map” first it is skewed, and then open the Gray Line map, it is normal.
If I immediately close, then re-open the map,(either map) it is then normal.
Any subsequent time after the first time, the map (either) appears normal as expected.

If I close ACLog, then re-open. It is all repeatable. The first time opening the maps after opening ACLog, the first one open is skewed

Hi Scott,

Relatively small point, but the display of the World Map as well as the Grey Line Mapfrom the last beta seem to skew somewhat when minimizing as part of the overall display. Both maps show a black frame to the top and right sides and do not show a full global map as I try to resize them.

Both features are great additions to ACL but just are a bit off as I try to use them as windows in a dual screen environment.

I have ACLog successfully getting the call sign from WSKTx, but the signal reports always come over as 599 vs getting signal strength in db from WSJTx. It is a minor issue, but if there is an easy to get the data over, it would be nice. I really don't want to have to run yet another program to do this, if at all possible.

Thanks, guys!

Do you have ACLog setup to talk to WSJT-X?
If ACLog listen to WSJT-X is turned on it is likely that your double log is because WSTJ-X is sending the QSO info to ACLog as well as JTAlert and then JRAlert is creating the second log.
