Hi John,

Thanks for your e-mail. From the menu options click Settings > Reset Columns to Default > Main List Widths.

That will do the trick.

Enjoy!

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] Missing header and log data

Hi
Strange problem here.  Opened ACLog 7.0.3 today and noticed all qso record numbers located in Record column
showed only the first digit of record number.  I.e., there are 10,065 records and only the first digit of each record number
appears in the log.  Also, some column headings are missing letters, only first letter of callsign prefixes show, only the year
of contact appears without day/month. Any ideas as to what issue could be causing this?  Could it be fixed by uninstalling/reinstalling ACLog.
or waiting for new update before installing?  See attached screenshot.
Thanks, John N1AM

Thanks for getting back with me, Mike.

Okay............. the particulars:

PC, custom built.  Windows 10.  Kenwood TS-590SG.

I know this isn't the SDR  Uno forum, but I did get the Uno program to start tracking, so that problem is no longer a consideration.

Greetings Chris -

I think you have identified your problem - now we just need to figure out a solution. It sounds like it is a COM port problem. For some reason, COM port 3 that the radio needs is being used by something else before the radio gets turned on.

Although I may not be able to walk you trough the solution, I am sure others will be along who can. But first we will all need some additional info.

What computer system  - PC or Mac?  If PC, what version of Windows?

Frustrated as all get out!!!!!!!!!

Chris Christenberry

I've had the Amateur Logging program for a couple of weeks now.  Rockin' right along.  Everything seemed to be working like clockwork.  Frequency was following both my Kenwood TS-590SG and the SDR Uno program.  Then seemly for no reason the logging program stopped following my rig.  To my knowledge, I did nothing to initiate the change.  I've had all sorts of problems because I keep getting a message saying Com Port 3 isn't available.  When I went to check, Com Port 3 was missing.  Messed around with all sorts of things and then, as if by magic, Com Port 3 showed up in my list again.  Was able to get the Logging program to hook up to the radio.........until I turned it off.  Been searching and reading all over this forum and trying things I've read.  Then my Uno stopped following the rig.  Turned off the logging program and turned it back on and there's no following of the frequency.  So no neither Uno or Amateur Logging will follow my rig.  I've been yanking on my hair so hard I've little left.  I'm fairly tech illiterate, so for me to get this far with it is a great accomplishment..............but I'm still not there..........not getting the N3FJP software to follow my rig without failing later.

If anyone has the patience to walk me through this labyrinth, I'd sure appreciate it.

Re: New rig. Same problem with transmit audio files

AlanW4WMM

Hello all,

I have exactly the same problem with my Kenwood TS-590SG and discovered a work-around by accident.
When I press the corresponding "F" key, the radio keys up but no audio is broadcast.
Unplugging the USB cable from the rig to the PC will cause the audio to play through the speakers of the PC but of course no rig control.

Work-around...
Pressing the corresponding "F" key TWICE.
First press keys the rig.
Second press plays the audio file.

Does anyone know a way to make this work with ONE key press?

Hi Scott, I think I spoke too soon in my last reply to you. I followed your instructions, but it didn't seem to work. Shut the program down and reopened it, and wa la! It worked.

Thanks so much for your help. I wouldn't have figured it out in a billion years.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your e-mail.  I'm not familiar with RigBlaster, so insights from others might be needed, but two things....

- After you click Test and your rig is correctly polling, don't click End Test.  Instead, just click Done.

-  For the power options on the rig interface form, try setting it to None.

Enjoy!

Help if you can.

I have a Yaesu 897 and the Winter Field Day software, using a rigblaster plug and play between radio and PC. I setup the rig interface as per the suggestion on the righelp FAQ. So when I press the test button everything seems to be working. I see the frequency above the test button, so I end test. Then I click on the following buttons: done > ok polling but then the transmit light on radio does not go off and I can not transmit.

I experimented and said no to polling, but if I close the software program and reopen it, I have the same issue with the transmission locking. So I go in and disable it in the settings.

Has anyone had this issue before? I could find anything searching through past posts.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: MN and BC QSOP #contest

David Latour

Now I'm cooking with gas, thanks, Scott. For my set up anyway, ACLog must be the server with rig control, not one of the contest loggers. Janet's reply seemed to suggest I could use one of the contest loggers as the rig-control server, but that didn't work here. I'm ready for MN/BC QSOP - bring it on!

Re: MN and BC QSOP #contest

Hi David,

Thanks for your e-mail.  I would suggest connecting AC Log to your rig normally and enabling the API as the server.  Then on both contest programs, use the N3FJP API option on the rig interface form.  Lots more details here:

I asked Janet how to do 2 QSOP the same weekend. As I understand her answer, the first logger (whichever) is set to rig control and TCP API and the second is set to N3FJP and no API. This doesn't work in testing, the second logger doesn't find the radio on polling. Do all the settings in rig control for the second logger have to match those in the rig-controlling logger? Or am I, as usual, barking up the wrong frozen tree?

ACL 7.0.3.8 appears to be running fine under  Windows 10 Version 21H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5010793).  Note that I run the N1MM Greyline App.  This is a standalone left over from N1MM, not N1MM+.  I also have Simon's World Map running on another computer in the shack.

I love ACLOG even though the UI has been rather clunky.  Features I would like to see are:

- ability to toggle between Recent Contacts and Contact History display (I know there is a switch somewhere under a menu but can never remember where it is)
- ability to set the background color for any field(s) where I can independently set font color.
- display status of "Enable Real Time Upload" to LOTW on the main page.

Snip of my third screen where ACLOG residues is attached.

Hi All,

Chris and I would really appreciate your giving AC Log 7.0.3.8 Beta a try.  This beta release is primarily a proof of concept, which you can test for us by displaying a Solar Terminator map (click View > Solar Terminator) and connecting to our help chat bot Juliet (Help > Ask Juliet).

Capture.PNG

The first time you try either option, you will be prompted to install an Affirmatech Extensions component, which AC Log should handle for you seamlessly.  Once complete, you should be able to again click View > Solar Terminator to display the map and Help > Ask Juliet to display our chat bot help form.  The display is likely not the final iteration.  Again, we are focusing on proof of concept for now, so once we know it is working properly on all operating systems (Win 7 and up), we can focus on enhancing the display.

For our future plans, we need the ability to incorporate web technologies into AC Log / N3FJP Software to take advantage of these additional feature sets.  This opens up a world of possibilities for our software that we are really excited about!

Additional items to test in 7.0.3.8 include:

- List > Duplicates (you can now specify a window of time in which the station would be considered a duplicate).

- List > QSOs by Confirmation Status > (all combinations of Sent and Received).

- List > QSOs by Contest ID  (Added in List since Contest ID is not an entry field in AC Log that can be searched).

You will find AC Log 7.0.3.8 Beta here.  You should not have to uninstall your previous version:

Please let us know how you make out!  If you run into any trouble, please include the details and the operating system you are running.

Thanks in advance for giving 7.0.3.8 a good workout.  We really, really appreciate it!

Enjoy!
