N3JFP AC Log and JTDX

I know that AC Log will sync with WSJT-X. When you log a contact in WSJT-X it automatically goes over to AC log.
And that is a nice feature.
But does that function exist when using JTDX?

ACLog & JTAlert: QSOs Logged but Can't Upload to LOTW #aclog #lotw #wsjtx

Sean Kutzko

Good morning, all-

Been using ACLog for two years and love it. No issues.

Just started using JT Alert and it appears I have that configured properly; I click on a spot in WSJT-X and the log fields in ACLog populate. I used automatic configuration as outlined in the help files here and JTAlert is pointing to logdata.mdb on my local machine. I work a station and log the QSO and the QSO shows up in my log database.

However, I'm having an issue when uploading to LOTW.

When I upload "All Contacts Not Uploaded, LOTW says there are no new contacts to upload. I have tried logging new QSOs both by clicking "Log Contact" in LOTW and by manually logging the QSO in WSJT; LOTW still does not recognize new QSOS in the log. However, if I manually import the same QSOs from  the file "WSJTX_Log.adi" from the log directory in WSJTX, the QSOs go through to LOTW fine, although they do create duplicate entries in my ACLog file.

Do I have a settings box improperly checked somewhere?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi John,

Thanks for your follow up.  I'm sorry that you are still having trouble.  Please try this:

- Click File > New > New Database and create a new log file with a new file name.

-  Click the All Data button under the Download heading on the LoTW form.  You should receive a prompt that one or more records are not in your database and ask you if you want to add them.  Click Yes.

-  Your entire log should appear on the LoTW form.

-  When you click Done on the LoTW form, your log should appear in AC Log's main list.

Enjoy!

It looks like you should be able to export your log as an ADIF file, make corrections with the free ADIF Master software, and import it into the correct logger.

Hi Chris,

After you get back from the orthopedic docs you might want edit the Cabrillo -- fairly simple with Notepad -- and send it in to the contest sponsor with a note about your foot.  I did this when sending in a VHF log in 2015 after I had a (thankfully mild) heart attack on the Sunday of the contest.  The sponsors accepted it, even though late.

Re: Logging issue with JTAlert#JTAlert

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your e-mail.  I'm sorry that you have run into trouble.  Regarding JT Alert's inability to confirm the QSO, I see that you are pointing maually to your backup file instead of your log file.  You defintely need to point to your currently open log file in AC Log from that JT Alert screen or JT Alert will not be able to find your log file to confirm it.

All the details for properly setting up JT Alert with AC Log are here:

http://www.n3fjp.com/help/digitalsetup.html#jtalert

Regarding LoTW not marking records, it sounds like you are only downloading All Confirmed instead of All Since.  You have to do an All Since download to mark all the records you previously uploaded.  This explanation here will get you going:

I experiencing trouble logging from JTAlert to ACLog.
Setup:  ACLog 7.0.2, WSJT-X 2.5.2, JTAlert 2.5.0.9, Win10 64bit

Problem: I have ACLog set up with JTAlert.  When I log a qso, I receive an error msg. from JTAlert saying that ACLog  can't confirm the qso, yet it still logs the qso into ACLog.  Sometimes it even logs the contact twice. When I then upload the contact to LOTW, the uploaded qso doesn't turn Green in ACLog.  It will turn Blue in ACLog when the contact confirms my upload. Also, when I uploaded the latest version of JTAlert, ACLog was not automatically finding the file and port, so I put those in manually as you'll see from Screenshot #18.  This is the first time i've ever had a problem with the logging.

I believe that I have the wrong boxes checked somewhere, so i've enclosed a number of screen shots that show my set up in WSJT-X, JTAlert, JTAlert error msg., and my ACLog.

I will be grateful for any help you can give me.

Sorry, Larry, I haven't read my messages since Monday.

The cause of my problem was using the DX version of the 10-meter program.  I figured that out on Monday.  I entered about 20 QSOs into the correct log but each had to be entered manually.  The date had to be edited for each QSO and I'd have to constantly switch between programs to get the time, state, and any serial numbers I received from DX stations.  I'm having a problem with my cast eating into my foot so I have to go back to the Orthopedic docs and have somebody put on a new cast.  I'm not going to manually type in another 150 QSOs so this year I won't submit my log.  It's no big deal and my sincere thanks to all who offered assistance.

Chris,
Your Cabrillo file is not correct. It is showing a serial number (001, 002, 003) for the sent exchange, where it should say MA

Check your Cabrillo file with a text editor. It should look like the picture above.

In your original post, you said you used AC log, I assume you didn’t and you actually used the 10M contest.
In the Setup (CTRL-S) you do have MA, Correct ?

And when you write the Cabrillo file,

make sure you picked the correct contest

I think this has to do with the way Massachusetts is broken up on the ARRL's contest upload page.  I am in Western Mass. but during the contest, we don't differentiate between Western and Eastern Mass.  We just give our report as 59 or 599 MA.  Not 59 Western MA or Eastern MA.  At least that's how every station I worked in Massachusetts replied to me when I worked stations in my home state. However, when I upload my Cabrillo file to the ARRL's 10-meter page it is asking me whether I am in Eastern or Western Mass. I enter Western Mass. because that is where I'm located, and I think that's what's causing the error but I have no choice but to enter Western Mass.

However, upon submittal, I am receiving an error for every single QSO.  Here is a copy of my basic info and the first few QSOs that came back from the ARRL's 10-meter upload page.

Logging issue with JTAlert#JTAlert

Jim Ruff

Thanks,
Jim W7JHR

AC Log 7.0.2.8 Beta - Ability to Change Alternating List Color

Scott Davis

Hi All,

We received several requests during the previous Dark Them and related beta testing for the ability to customize the alternating backcolor on the main list, so we carved out some additional time to add that feature as well.  This is the only change from the previous AC Log beta.  If you would like to give it a test, you can install AC Log 7.0.2.8 Beta from here:

https://www.n3fjp.com/beta.html

You can click Settings > Appearance > Colors and Fonts and then select the alternating backcolor from this button here.

As always, thanks so much for testing out the software!

Enjoy!

Thanks for the kind offer, but I'm going to skip submitting my log this year.  I simply don't have the patience to do this and it really means nothing when one comes right down to it. Also, I'm too irritable to associate with people.

I'll rejoin the forum when this is over and I'm back to normal.

Christopher,
If you export it to Excel and then sort it, you can re-import it (if it's not illegal, haha, that was a joke).
If you want to send me a copy of the file, I'll be glad to work on it for you.  At one time in the past, I was a skilled computer programmer.

Simple. You used the DX version of the loggger instead of the US one.
In the DX version, it lists your "sent" report as 59 + serial numbers.
In the US version, it lists your "sent" report as 59 + the two letter code for your state.
You are in the US, so you need to use and submit the correct version.
I don't know but maybe if you open the US version, you will be able to import your log into it and it will correctly list your sent report for each QSO with the proper MA instead of sequential numbers.

There is this Google Calendar here: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=9o3or51jjdsantmsqoadmm949k%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=Etc/GMT

that reports the contest.

I would like to subscribe the calendar to have it among my calendars and see it within the Google calendar application which is way better than the webpage.

To do so I need an URL in iCal format. Do you maybe know how can I get it?

Thanks and best 73.
