They have a certificate available and you get the ones you worked shown on the certificate. There are also three bonus stations, WM3PEN, GB13COL, and TM13COL.

I have them all except TM13COL. Those Island was tough for me but got him on 40 SSB (I’m in northern NJ and a little close for 40).

Tomorrow I will hunt for the French station.

Thanks for you help. I went ahead and loaded my contacts to LOTW following the suggested steps. It was easy. I am very impressed with the N3fjp software after using a competitive product for a year.
I sure get a charge out of exploring the world with FT8 and QRZ.

Hi,

Thank you for your quick response!

I just deleted a long paragraph that I wrote, because rereading your response I saw what I was going wrong.  On the FD software, I had "Mode Determined by: Frequency" checked instead of by Rig.
Two real nice features would be:

1.  Set the digital mode based upon Frequency.
2.  Don't update  mode unless Freq and/or mode  changes

God Bless

Hi Darryl,

Thanks for your e-mail.

Only one program can connect directly to your rig, so you can either let Amateur Contact Log or WSJT-X perform rig interface. If you want WSJT-X to perform rig control, from AC Log's menu options click Settings > Rig Interface and select None from the rig list (be sure to click the Save Settings button below the rig list first to save your working settings). Then configure rig interface in WSJT accordingly.

Alternatively, you can set AC Log to perform rig interface and set WSJT-X's rig selection to None. That's my preference here, as I can quickly switch to SSB or CW and then back to FT8 without having to reconfigure rig interface in either program. Please note that if you go this route, it is best to set AC Log to return Mode by Frequency and enable All Mapped Digital Modes. Otherwise, AC Log will display SSB for mode until you log a contact, but the mode will be saved as the proper digital mode either way.

Re: Adding a call to AC log popup window

Hello WM5L (name???).

If I’m not mistaken by default the callsign N3FJP is the default call in the “Watch List”.  To access the watch list go to:

  • File
  • Watch List
  • Add the DX call you are looking for

If you want to see all the countries you have not worked yet in the DX Spots list do the following:

  • Settings
  • DX Spotting
  • Configure
  • Check Mark – Enable DX Spotting

Or just do a CNTL-D and place the check mark next to Enable DX Spotting.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Pat – KZ5J

Re: ACLog, WSJTx, and Gridtracker #wsjtx

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your e-mail.  You can have multiple programs connected to WSJT-X simultaneously to take advantage of the features of each, but you will need to use the multicast option.

One of the things that seems to trip folks up most often when configuring multicasting is that there is a limited range of multicast IPs that you can use.  You must choose in a range of 224.0.0.1 and 239.255.255.255.  Details on setting up multicasting with WSJT-X and our software are here:

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] ACLog, WSJTx, and Gridtracker #wsjtx

Hi all,  I am struggling with getting all three connected and working as designed.  I have searched forums and watched hours of Youtube, but am missing something with the setup.  I really love the new callsign color coding that ACLog will display in WSJTx and want to keep that along with showing the grids that Gridtracker displays.  I do start ACLog first, then WSJTx and then Gridtracker.

Seems as though I can get ACLog and WSJTx to play together, or WSJTx and Gridtracker to play, but not all three.  I am sure it has to do with my Port Assignments and UDP settings across the three programs.  Unfortunately, I am not schooled enough in ports and multicast to figure it out.  Any help would be appreciated with specific settings in each program.  Many thanks,  Scott

Re: New frontiers

Rick

LoTW has to adapt N3FJP County tagging.  MARAC Logger has to be able to import N3FJP QSO data and use it to calculate their books.  They are close.
The thing is that this software writing tasks are difficult.  Most of us mortals don’t understand writing code and how data flow works.  We just play radio.

County Hunting is fun because of the RoadRunners.  The CQ USA CA needs to shed the card requirements.
POTA is fun because of the QRP folks and travelers.  Don’t forget the Grid Hunters.
It is getting popular because it is a key QSO identifier in FT8 ad FT4.
We need some sort of Ft8-Ft4 award.  WSJT-X is not your father’s digital mode any more.

For me the the idea is to play radio and count my bragging chips.
I can’t imagine the way I play radio without N3FJP.

TS-890S is there a way to use N3FJP logs with LAN connection?

Campbell Enterprises

Hello all,

I am trying to change my AC Log and and contest log settings to use a TS-890S instead of the TS-590S I currently have everything set up on. I think I understand about the changes within the N3FJP software I need to make but I can not find a way to select the LAN connection that my computer is communicating with the TS-890S on (instead of the comport the 590S used).

Is there a way to use the N3FJP log programs over the LAN connection?

Thanks in advance,

Marshall WA4OFW

Thanks Kimberly,
You are 100% correct as always.
I have had ACL set up for years and have just gotten rusty, complacent and am not overly familiar with everything ACL does.
Other than that ACL & WSJT-X is working great together.

Also ACL for FD worked great all weekend.

Thanks much,

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] Troubles

   Hello everyone,

I am just starting out this morning as K2E for 13 Colonies.
I am running ACL 7.0.1 as a different user on my computer so all is new
and fresh.

1. WSJT-X  and ACL seems to be working OK but not like it usually does.
Contact #'s are counting down, the newest contact is on the top line and
the first contact keeps getting lower on the list.
Sort log on date did not correct this

**  AC Log always displays newest QSO entered as the highest record number, at the top of the list.  This is normal behavior.

2. When the log window for WSJT-X open's up ACL goes blank, the listed
contacts are not there.
When I click OK to log the contact on the WSJT-X window the contact is
logged and all the contacts reappear.

**  When you click on a call in WSJT, previous contacts with that station are listed.  Since you have not worked the station previously, none are listed.  You can click Settings > List Matches for These Fields with Tab and deselect Call to disable this behavior.

In short, all is well!

I am puzzled. This is not how it normally works on my regular user.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Be well and enjoy!

Re: Access Database Engine Idiosyncrasies and Field Day Networking

Ken Bell

Just for my curiosity, Joseph, were all of your users 'attached' to the same shared MDB across the network or were you using Scott's built-in Network feature from the top menu on the FD package?

At issue is that Microsoft Access is a single-user db, which works well on a very fast network with (few) multiple users ONLY INSERTING new records simultaneously.  A few rules need to be observed, like not sorting in the main window and NEVER DELETING when in a multi-user environment.  Our club has proven that these CAN occasionally cause db corruption.

Scott will know, but he may have some rudimentary record locking that will uphold DB integrity built into his Network feature.  Also, he may have written into the Network package (or should in the future) that only the Networked PC that holds the main DB be allowed to change Databases. If so, the user error of overwriting the DB would only happen on the PC holding the master DB.

If you haven't tried the 'Network' feature, you should as you might like it.  The club I ran with this year didn't use it and I was nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof.  We used it for Winter Field day last year and a couple of QSO parties and it has some great communication features and lets you see where the other PCs are running... and I think (hope) it has some locking of the DB to prevent db corruption.

Somewhat OK,

The listing sequence is doing just what it should be doing, newest
contact up on the top line. My fault / understanding / panic.

I still do not understand why all the contacts disappear and then come back.

I have QRZ internet lookup checked,
WSJT screen goes to red line indicating that I am now in QSO with someone,
ACL list disappears,
WSJT log window opens,
I click OK to log the contact,
ACL list reappears with new contact.

This does not happen with my regular user setup.
