Re: Full Name for Fill Fields

Ara Kourchians <dotuplink@...>

Hi Mitch,

Ah, I should have been more specific. On QRZ, the "Operator Name" field name gets populated with whatever the "Name" field is on ACLOG. If I were to add a callsign on QRZ, the "Operator Name" field gets populated with their full name, but if I were to import my contacts from ACLOG (after using the Fill Fields function), it only populates "Operator Name" with the first name since that's what ACLOG pulls.

I think there's a subtle mismatch in how information is populated and interpreted between ACLOG and QRZ for a given input callsign (i.e. - COMMENTS are just used for comments rather than full name/address in QRZ). Not that it's an issue, but rather a discrepancy between how things are done between the two programs.

Anyway, sounds like there's no quick way to fix this, so that's fine. Figured I'd ask just in case I missed the setting.

Thanks,
Ara

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for your e-mail. If you filter spots by your continent, they typically won't come in so fast that they become unmanageable. We'll give the option to stop the spots altogether some thought for the future.

I was working the ARQSO party this morning, the spots were rolling so fast I couldn't keep up, then when I manually go down the list the spots start scrolling again just about the time I see the spot I want.
I switched to another logging program that stops scrolling when I click a line.
My guess is that this ability is built in but I searched a bit but didn't find an answer.
Thanks Scott!

Excellent idea.  I do the same thing but with a Publisher document and I use the export function in Access to create my CSV.

I use InDesign to create a QSL design with a merge feature to insert QSO data automatically, which I print on my photo printer.

At the moment, I select records and "Copy Selected Records to Clipboard." I then paste the clipboard into a spreadsheet and export from the spreadsheet to a CSV file. I point InDesign to the CSV file to print the QSLs I need to send.

If you logging program had an option to export all or selected records to a CSV file, I would save me several time consuming steps.

I a planning a instruction video on how to do this. If there is a chance you will implement a CSV option, I will wait so that I can incorporate that in the video.

I am enjoying using the program.

Re: Full Name for Fill Fields

Ara,

The Operator field is YOUR callsign and populated from the Settings/Setup tab.  It is not from the Fill Fields function.

Fill Fields populates First Name of the contact in the NAME column.  The full name and address are populated in the COMMENTS column.  There is not a setting as you have asked.

Hi all

I find 6.9.4.1 working as designed.  I have 2 little picky observations which I hope could be addressed before the final version is released.
  • I found that the red and green colors to be a bit harsh on my eyes.  Could they be either be made a more pastel shade or allow the user to pick the pallet they prefer.
  • Could you implement an option to resend the UPD packets on?  If find it useful to populate the WSJT-S Aggregator, which automatically sends the spots on to the DXMAPS site.
Neither of these is a deal breaker, but personally the packet resending would make it much more useful to me.

Hi Ray,

Thanks for your follow up.  AC Log doesn't overwrite any existing data on import.  N1MM+ should include the DXCC entity code number in their output as detailed here:

https://www.adif.org/312/ADIF_312.htm#DXCC_Entity_Code_Enumeration

If you click Edit > Fill Fields Determined by Call, that will fill fields from Callbook lookup data.

entry, but then placing that in both fields and overwrites the correct information.  As an
example nl7wa was in henderson county in floorida for the florida qso party the export record
has his state listed as FL.  But on import his country becomes AK which I understand the no

Re: Please Test AC Log Beta 6.9.4!

Scott Davis

Thanks for the report Jim. I have an idea that I think will help, that should not take too much time.  I will add that to the next beta for testing.  I'll let you know on this thread when it is ready to try.

Subject: Re: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] Please Test AC Log Beta 6.9.4!

Scott / Kimberly,

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded version 6.9.4.2 .  If I resize the the DX spot table using the rest option all appears ok as long as I don't try to manually change any of the column sizes. If I do all of the column widths will be shrunk down on program restart. This appears to be the same problem described by George K4GM. This only appears  to be a problem with the small DX window displayed at the bottom of the logging screen. It does not appear to be a problem if I select the large DX table.
Please don't put a lot of effort into this right now as I know you are very busy with other more important items.

Thanks Jim...N3MVX
