The grids listed after the time are from the spotting station not the spotted station. I see complete grids listed on my Telnet connection, letters and numbers, but it I'm not going through ACLog.

No those would not be accurate for grids.  FN is mostly around The East US coast, EN falls mostly in Michigan, Ohio region, FM is Southern Florida area. I too have wondered what they are.

Looks like first two letters of their grid square. Maybe you need those grids?

When using VE7CC Cluster I see myself being spotted almost continuously

Dave wo2x

Hi All,

Haven't been able to figure this one out.
N3FJP 6.3 with VE7CC cluster.
When on FT-8 using WSJT-X 2.4.0.RC4 and JTAlert 2.50.1 when I transmit I see a whole bunch of spots for myself on the DX cluster window.
When switching cluster to leadmon.net I do not see myself being spotted.

I am not calling CQ at the time but responding to stations calling CQ. I think it is a setting for the VE7CC cluster someplace.

Thanks
Dave

Hi Scott,

Looking good here. Only difference I see is my unconfirmed background is black, but I don't use that anyway.

May have to do with the colors I have selected in WSJTx.

Thanks Scott.
While your suggestion was not the solution, it pointed directly at the problem. I hadn't loaded the LoTW program.

It's all working well. My FT8 contacts are now loading into the best logging program available. IMHO.

Migration to a new platform is like crossing a stream full of allegators. It is likely, there is another missed application lying in wait.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your e-mail.  I'm sorry that you ran into trouble.  As long as you were running a recent version of the software released after 2018 or later, it should have worked fine.  I just double checked and it is working properly here:

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] 7QP County Lines

I had a problem with county lines during 7QP. As best as I could find, I
thought in the county box, I should enter ORCRO+ORWHE for the Oregon
Crook/Wheeler county line. While it accepted it, it did not count it as
two contacts, and it only increased my counties worked by one. In the
counties worked list it showed as ORCRO+ORWHE. I ended up making two log
entries, one for each county.

I also discovered there are no help files when you have no Internet access.

Re: Changes Necessary When Running Portable

I'll go ahead and give opposing opinions.

I use ACL and JTDX using /P and have no problems. Lotw has a cert for the /P call and ACL doesn't have any problems uploading to Lotw. I do have a different account for eqsl and that helps separate my home and portable contacts.

I will say I use a completely different computer for my portable ops and because of that, all I ever have to change is the grid and add the new "station" which is done by "Add".

Please Test AC Log Beta 6.9.4!

Hi Gang,

Chris, KB3KCN and I have been continuing to augment the WSJT > AC Log direct interface.  While we have lots more ideas in the works, that will take more time to develop, we would really appreciate it if you could take a look and test out this interim step:

In WSJT, please click File > Settings > Reporting and check the check box that says Accept UDP Requests:

Capture.JPG

If all goes well, stations that are duplicates (by specific digital mode) and band, regardless of confirmation status, will be displayed with a Red background.  Stations where you need the Grid, State or Country in which they reside will be Green:

Capture2.JPG

I've done very little on 6 meters FT8, so I need everything!

You can adjust the items to color by clicking in AC Log > Settings > Application Program Interface > Configure (for WSJT).

And in the very cool event of one feature leading to another, in developing the state / callsign database with WSJT interface in mind, we also realized we could parley that functionality on the main form for DX Spots (both for display and confirmation alerts).  To enable, just click Settings > DX Spotting > Lookup USA States.  You will see the state appended to USA for DX spots:

Capture3.JPG

Please give these new features a really good test and let us know how you make out.  You can download AC Log 6.9.4 Beta from this link here (no need to uninstall the previous version):

http://www.n3fjp.com/programs/ACLBETA.exe

Thanks in advance for your testing!

Hi John,

Thanks for your e-mail.  If you have automatic upload to LoTW enabled, try disabling it.  I'm not sure that is what is at play, but that is the only external program I can think of that AC Log would be trying to execute on entry.

I hope that this helps!

Enjoy!

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] System error message after first log transfer has me stumped

I recently moved from a laptop to a new, faster, and beefier tower configuration. The transfer was burdensome, however, it is 99% (hopefully) complete.

An issue that has me baffled is in the configuration maze of JTDX, JTAlert, GridTracker, and ACL. These all worked well together in the laptop, yet now something is amiss in the tower.

After a successful QSO, JTDX issue a QSO confirmation request to the log. With the first request, everything goes as usual and JTAlert issues a confirmation dialog from ACL. BUT, an error message also pops up which says.

However, the next time shortly after manual confirmation in JTDX, another error message appears.

BTW, this also happens with WSJT-X.
Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks in advance.
