Re: Timer Function for Contesting

Hi Fred,

If you click on the time window you can enter the “rule”: 30 minutes, 60 minutes – and it will recalculate.

Perhaps there is a way to do this.  If so, consider this a question.  If not, then perhaps a future feature request.

Just finished working the CQWW WPX SSB contest.  Like others, this one is 48 hours long with a maximum operating time of 36 hours allowed.  But it's more complicated than that - off times must be at least 1 hour and 1 minute long to qualify.  So simply using N3FJP's existing timer is not the entire answer, in that it does not recognize a 59 minute (or less) off-time to be invalid.

I think what is really needed is to interrogate the database, looking for at least 61 minute off times between QSO's, then adding them up looking for a 12 hour total accumulation.  Based on that total, one may have to end their contest participation early to avoid exceeding the maximum time limit.

In the meantime, need to ask other local contesters how they track that required time.

I agree. It's just started to occur in the last several days, without any other changes a9at least none that I am aware of....It resolves itself with a re-load.....until the next time it pops up.

Re: ACLOG and Yaesu FT450 radio

I had a similar issue. You will need a serial-to-USB cable and driver, usually sold as a package. Without the driver, there is no true connection. I purchased Sabrent  SBT-USC6k software and cable and resolved the issue.

Re: FT-* does not send DX spot

Pat Whelton

You must tell the cluster you want to see FT8 spots.  They are OFF by default.   Send SET/FT8 to the cluster to turn them on.

Thank God.  Thank you very much Lee.  This is definitely a great service for keeping the spotting service clean and allowing only CW, SSB and RTTY.

Re: Error Message " QRZ Internet Data Base Access Error" ACL 6.8

Scott Davis

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your e-mail.  I'm sorry that you've run into trouble.  Make sure you only have one call book data source selected.

Aside from the option to put the address in the Comments field on the main form (Callbook > Place Retrieved Address in Comments Field), the only settings in AC Log related to QRZ Online lookup are:

-  A valid QRZ UserName
-  A valid QRZ Password
- The check box checked to Enable QRZ Internet Lookup
-  Make sure no other callbook lookup options are selected.

In addition:

-  You'll need to set your Windows Protection and / or Internet protection software to allow AC Log to access the Internet
-  A QRZ subscription in good standing

Also, make sure that you don't have any unusual characters in your user name or password.  If you stick to letters and numbers you will be fine.

That's all there is to it and there isn't anything else to change or set.  I haven't had any other reports of problems, so if you continue to have trouble, please try reentering your user name and password and then double check your account status with the QRZ folks.

Enjoy!

Hi all,
I keep getting this ENDLESS error message and can't find a correction.
It happens for each  station I work. ugh!
Rig is a G90/WSJT-X/FT8/JTAlert 2.16.17/FLrig 1.3.52 set up on a W10 , i5 desktop.
FLrig seup is per ACL instructions for G90.

Log does get calls transferred and logged correctly at the end of the cycle, but endless messages.
QRZ ADI correct password confirmed all around.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Hi James,

Thanks for your e-mail.  Jim is correct.  You have your forecolor and backcolor set to the same value, so you are unable to see the text.  Click Settings > Appearance > Colors and Fonts to correct that.

Sounds like you are having a font/colors issue. Try resetting them to default.

Re: State QSO Log

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your e-mail.  Just to double check, I just installed the MS QSO Party in state software directly from the web site.  It installs properly as 3.2:

It sounds like you are installing from an older installation file.

The Mississippi QSO party will be held Saturday, April 4th and I checked the downloads page to get the latest version of the log which is showing version 3.2.  When I download it, it is version 3.1 which I already have installed from last year.  Is this just a typo in the downloads page?  The rules have changed this year and FT4/FT8 modes will be allowed which was not in previous years.  Just wanting to make sure I have the latest version.  Thanks.

Re: Transferring contest log entries to ACL

Contests usually only care about Band, not necessarily exact frequency when it comes to logging.  Neither does LoTW.  They only log band.

Hope that assists you.
