Date

LOTW User - Last upload

Fred K2DFC

Noticed something. When tabbing from the CALL box and the last LOTW upload is listed all dates are from August 2017. But when I go to the LOTW web site and put the same calls in the FIND CALL box a newer current date is shown. According to ACLog N3FJP hasn't uploaded since August of 2017, but the actual date was just a few days ago, just like myself and many others I checked with.

Great contest, thanks to the N3FJP log used at N0GM

George Merkle N0GM

Scott & Kimberly,
Thank you for making such a great log!  Operating this contest was such a delight, especially since I slipped on ice last week and broke my hand and knee cap, so was pretty much confined to the ham shack (no, I didn't plan this!).

CTRL-H function to store calls and frequencies enabled me to bag Cuba, Venezuela, and Curacao in the last 12 minutes of the contest, as I toggled between them.  (So much easier than stacked VFOs on my Yaseu FTDX3000, which require keeping a paper track of which VFO is where.)  Dupe function and Super Check again made it so much easier, especially for those 40 wpm computer generated CQ's barely audible, and this time, the DX spotting feature actually enabled me to log some contacts I otherwise would have missed.

I started out the contest with a stack of blank paper on my desk to keep notes, but only used 2 or 3 sheets for 242 QSO's, a tribute to the efficacy of your program.  Have already successfully uploaded the log to the ARRL and imported it into ACL for LOTW.

Bravo Zulu (Well Done) from this one time Navy radioman.

Well Kimberly, that did it!  My rig settings did not show a "newer 2" but then I installed the new update (I was on 6.5) and then it was there, thanks!

Re: ACLOG view for vertical monitor #setup

That did it but not without difficulty...  the JTAlert window vanished when I swapped monitors.  Adjusted resolution to “find” the missing window.  It seems to be good now.  Hope it holds after a reboot.  Thanks!

Hi Jamie,

Thanks for the report. The only reason we can think of for the slowness is that the com port is not accessible. We appreciate your thoughts and observations.

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] Multi Radio Set Up In AC Log

Hi Scott, I am setting up AC Log for a multi radio configuration and came across a few things that might be able to be address within coding.

The scenario below is with a Yaesu FT991A and a Kenwood TS 2000X set up in AC Log as a multi radio and the Kenwood not being plugged in at the time the issues were noticed.

1. N3FJP is slow to load when radio is not active and plugged into com port
(Com port 7 is not active on computer)

2. N3FJP halts radio rig interface at old existing radio build (Kenwood TS 2000) and does not revert back to previous active radio ( Yaesu FT 991A) with active com port

3. N3FJP multi rig halts, and shows inactive rig (Kenwood TS 2000 com 7,not active) and does not allow radio swap (ctrl+x) to switch to active radio

4. N3FJP multi rig does not poll in order (Radio 1 should be active and polled first, radio 2 if not plugged in should be ignored since com port is not active)

I currently use a Yaesu 991A and a Kenwood TS 2000X.  The 991A uses comport 3, and the Kenwood uses com 7.  If I have my Kenwood off and unplugged, com 7 does not exist and is not in use. My 991A is connected, and stays as com 3, and won't default or poll to the correct radio and attempts to use the Kenwood Com 7 port as active and throws an error.

If selected rig is my active radio (991A) then there are no issues with loading, or polling.  If the Kenwood is selected as rig (not in multi rig), the program basically grinds to a halt.

Thanks for all that you guys do for us!!!

ACLOG view for vertical monitor #setup

Jon Hult

Fantastic program and thanks for all the hard work that went into making this one of the best loggers out there!

Due to shack "rearrange", I have one of two computer monitors in the "vertical" orientation.  Up to this point, both monitors have been viewed horizontally.  For reference, ACLOG would always start up on the monitor that I switched to vertical orientation.  For reasons passing understanding, ACLOG is stuck in vertical viewing and when I push it to the other monitor (horizontal) it stays in vertical mode.  ACLOG is barely readable now even on the vertically oriented monitor.

I did do a search here first; nothing to same topic and I've been in every menu that would be close to this issue.  How do I return ACLOG to return to "normal" or horizontal view?  All other programs on the PC are fine.  Thanks to anyone who has the answer!  73's.

Hello, I've been a user of ACL for years but just got a new radio, the Yaesu FT-DX10, that has been out on a couple of months.  I used the "yeasu-newer" settngs and that works fine with one odd quirk.  The logging program sees my radio frequency exactly one-tenth of what it really is!  40m now reads as the 560m band.  Any ideas what I've got wrong?  Many thanks, Wayne de K4WK

Re: LOTW upload

Thanks to all. I was looking right at the solution but did not recognize it: the add-call button: Since my window had "home" on it, I assumed it was really all I needed. Apparently it was connected to the NN5P listing [which I sometimes operate as NN5P from home in Williamson County, and sometimes I and others operate as NN5P from a Llano County site belonging to W5KFT, who has Big Antennas, Big Power and low noise!] Once I changed that, all was well. Thanks again.

Hi Phil,

Thanks for your e-mail. It's much faster to display the spot last button right on the main form. Details are here:

I have things set up so that when I enter a dx qso I then go to Settings/DX Spotting/Configure/Spot Last and then Send. Is that the best or only way to send spots? Doing that my spots do not appear. I tried using DXspots and Ve7CC.

I have been using N3FJP for years. Yesterday and today after calling CQ in the CW mode I noticed that I came up in the spotting window multiple times. My N3FJP is set to "dxspots.com". I routinely come up on the reverse beacon network but it has never come over to my spot window. Is this a new feature? Am I the only one seeing the spots or is it also going to the DX cluster? Is there a setting for this? I have attached two pictures of what I saw after calling CQ on 40 meters.   Thanks.

Hi David,

Thanks for your e-mail. The easiest remedy when contesting is to disable fldigi's auto upload feature. That way, when you upload from AC Log, they will be marked appropriately.

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] eqsl lotw acl and dupes

So, on digital contests I use FLdigi, it plays so nicely with ACLog contest loggers. My trouble starts after the contest is over. FLdigi is set to upload live to eqsl and lotw, which it appears to do just fine. After the contest, I transfer to ACL from the contest logger by API. So far, so good. A week later I download all confirmed since from LoTW, and get a ton of imperfect dupes that I spend a whole afternoon removing. Not every entry is duped. There will be runs of 5 or 6 together, and singles and doubles here and there. I think I cleared 50 from the 200 QSOs in CQ WPX RTTY. They "seem" to occur because the downloaded QSO has a different time than the locally stored QSO. Usually a minute but sometimes up to 5!. Is this curable at my end somehow?
