Scott and everyone thank you for everything you have contributed to the ham radio community.  We wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

My wife just passed her General last evening  (how bout that for a Christmas present). So, I will be setting up a separate account on the ham computer so she can work FT8,  etc. I want it to mirror my setup where WSJT-X, JTALERT and AClog are fully integrated. My goal is to have it set up so all you need to  do is log in to the User account and it will have the correct setup. Will let you all know how it works out.

Thank you, Scott, as always for your responses. Separate ports makes sense...too close to the “duh” factor here!  Merry and Blessed Christmas!

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your follow up.  Just use the Browse button on the Backup form to select your thumb drive location.

There is no need to back up the program itself, just your log data.  You can always install the software from www.n3fjp.com.

Enjoy!

Thank you, Scott, and a merry Christmas to you and yours.
Please forgive my lack of skill at windows navigation and moving stuff around.

I found the location of the N3FJP backup files, and if I understand it correctly, I need to alter the automatic N3FJP procedure so it saves to my thumb drive.  What are the specific steps to do this?  I assume I can then point to the thumb drive if a restore is needed.  Once I get this squared away, I plan to test it out so I know I can restore my log from the latest thumb drive backup if needed.

While I'm at it, can I also backup the complete N3FJP program to a thumb drive as well, if for some reason the code gets corrupted, or would I then need to use my system backup CD to restore my complete system?

Thanx in advance for your help, I'm really enjoying your software and all the advanced function you've added.

Hi Scott,
Thank you for the fast reply, and pointing out the limitations of using a contest program written for a different contest. However, even with those limitations, a program that tracks the S/N and identifies dupes is a huge improvement over a pen and paper.  So even a reasonably close fit would be better, I think, than nothing at all!

Re: LotW Status Display

Jim Hamlin

Thanx for the insight.  I've just connected my rig to N3FJP and have stopped manual logging so it's time to get a proven back up and restore procedure in place.  I'd like to use a permanent usb thumbdrive for this purpose, but need help on how to set this up.  Ie, how to link it to the logger, then how to do a recovery or restore.  Any details you might point me to?  I'm running windows 7 and not very good at moving files around.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your e-mail.  You won't see a red QSO from your LoTW downloads, as only records you upload (Sent) are returned from LoTW.

This explains why newly uploaded QSOs are black:

I'm a bit confused as to LotW status shown on my main screen.  My colors selected are:
Sent = Green
Received = Red
Sent & Received = Blue

None of my qso line items ever show up in red, and immediately after I upload new qso's to LotW, the ones that just were uploaded still appear in black.  I'm sure I'm missing something here.

PS: I just connected my radio to N3FJP and love'n it!

Tim,

Yep, it’s just you.

If you click “File>Sort Log on Date” instead of clicking the header, the files Will be sorted by date.

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] ACL Sort on Date/Time error/bug? v 6.7

All,

I am trying to sort ACL v6.7 log by Date / Time to export just a select range of recent ones (all contact since N5QJ) - I normally do this by just Rec# order. But I realized sorting by date field is more correct as the Rec# is NOT always the same order as contact date/time.

However, when I click the header field to do so, I now see the sorting is in error. It seems to not take in account the YEAR in the sort - thus is not truly sorting correctly...   (Example below)

Is it just me?  Can someone confirm?

Re: Second RX2 Freq

Patrick Moonen

Hi Scott,

Today the last update RX1 & RX2 work together with 2x JTDX and 2x JTAlert.
This with uploads from both JTAlert to N3FJP.
The CTRL X works as it should and follows nicely RX1 and RX2 when switching all of this in V6.7.3 here.

Scott to you the family and the team Merry Christmas !

I know this isn't N3FJP problem, I think its LoTW.
Has anybody seen this, it just started about a month ago.
Every time I enter a new QSO it pops up. It doesn't appear to be
causing a problem.
