ACLog popularity at SKCC

Over at the SKCC group, a poll was taken on which contest or logging software is used by the members (as an adjunct to the SKCCLogger). I'm happy to report that ACLog did very well :)

Hi Mitch,

The web page says it is updated in January and July. The most recent update is July 1, 2020. See http://www.n3fjp.com/calldata.html

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] AC Log Calldata Out of Date?

I use AC Log (V6.6) Calldata when I am working POTA and not connected to the internet.  I found out yesterday that that data was out of date.  So... I updated it from the program after connecting back to the internet.  I then checked the calldata.html webpage to see when the data was last updated.  According to that page, the data is updated weekly when using v4.1 or higher of ACLog.  Apparently not?  As a check I entered the callsign of the contact that complained to me about his record, and it has not changed after I downloaded the new files.  QRZ data is current for that one callsign.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi I have not been able to get the log software to pull the band or frequency setting from my FT-747   I can send the change frequency command and that works along with mode . so i know the software is talking to the FT-747 using the FT-100 setting but it still does not place the band info in the log. I have tried all the yaesu setting.  I think I just need the correct string to enters since the rest of the cat functions are working.  Any help would be appreciated I can be contacted at n4yed@...
Thanks

Is it possible to edit this form? I know in the main entry form you can change what blocks you have, the tab order, etc. Is it possible to do this with the Net form?

For our local nets, I'd just like to have CALL, NAME, QTH, and COMMENTS.

Thanks.

Hi Tony,

I think that all you need to do is to click <settings> in AC Log, scroll to the bottom and click “register”, then enter  your “activation code”.  If you don’t remember, or don’t have your activation code, I believe Scott or Kimberly can email it to you upon request.

Thanks Scott, that made it work much nicer. I didn't even know about that setting.

It doesn't seem to have any effect on some sub-windows, like the LoTW, Awards, etc. Those still come out full screen.

Not an issue, just an observation.

Thanks and 73,

CQ WW CW Pre Contest Checklist

Scott Davis

Hi Gang,

I hope that everyone will have a chance to jump in and enjoy CQ WW CW this weekend!  Just a quick reminder to review the pre contest checklist:

http://www.n3fjp.com/help/contestchecklist.html

The Sunspot number is up to 43.  It appears the uptick of the new cycle is underway and this may be the best conditions we've had for CQ WW in a few years!

Enjoy

Hi David,

Thanks for the report.  That could be and you should definitely post that to the FLDigi group, as that is all handled by FLDigi.

In my 40 contacts in that contest, 37 were incorrectly logged as QTCs and I had to do a bunch of editing on the cab. I think for me it was an issue with how FLdigi passed the info to WAE module.

Re: qsl sent doesnt record

Ruarto,

You have to also do a download from LoTW for them to show correctly.

See here:

Hope this helps.

What have I overlooked, misunderstood, or miscombobulated.??

Hi Gang,

I've been working on enhancing the DX Spotting reconnect functionality in my software.  In addition to automatically attempting a reconnect with your currently selected DX Spotting Telnet host, if the reconnect attempt fails, it will then try the next host in your list.

This is a difficult function to test, as aside from unplugging and replugging the LAN cable to simulate a disconnect, it is tough to simulate all the scenarios causing a disconnection.  I think the best way to test this is for as many of us to run AC Log, as much as possible and see what occurs if / when the Telnet site you happen to be connected to goes down.

If you would like to help test this feature, would you please uninstall your current version of AC Log from Windows Control Panel and then install this version:

It will say Beta 6.7.1 in the title bar.

Then click Settings > DX Spotting > Configure and check the Auto Reconnect option here:

Capture.JPG

If you have the ability to simulate a connection loss, awesome.  Otherwise, just let AC Log roll and see what happens.  There will be a text to speech voice letting you know if there is a reconnect attempt or a new site is tried.  You will also see text on the DX Spotting set up form of the attempts.

If you leave the PC, make a note of the host you are connected to and see if it is still the same site when you return.

Thanks in advance for your help with this!

Please let me know how you make out!

Re: Recent WAEDX RTTY Cabrillo file problem

Hi Danny,

Thanks for your e-mail.  Your Cabrillo file is showing a QTC record, not a QSO record.  Make sure you enter QSO records from the main form and QTC records from their respective QTC forms.  Don't add any additional values on the Edit form to the Other fields, as they are used to collect QTC info.

That will do the trick.

Enjoy, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Scott,
OK, I had a rough day during this past WAE RTTY contest and finally got personal and radio room issues resolved with 15 minutes to spare to squeeze into the contest.

I made ONE contact - and to be honest - the time is past for me to even enter my MASSIVE log (LOL!) as the deadline has past.

Attached, I have a screenshot of the entry in your contest log and a copy of the CABRILLO file.  It appears as if all of the information of the station I contacted is missing - even though it appears in the log.  ??

The Cabrillo file follows.

I have a sense that the failure might have been because of the fact that I had ONLY one contact....I dunno - just a hunch!

Thanks, Danny W3ZF
