If I’m not mistaken all of Scott’s loggers log in 24 hour time.  That’s basic Ham Radio.  How would you be able to confirm QSOs if you logged in local time (12 hour) and your contact was drinking a cool one in Swaziland?

Scott,

I am getting setup for the NA SSB Sprint this weekend. I noticed that you have TWO NA Sprint downloads. One has the CW and RTTY Modes greyed out and the other you can select between

CW/RTTY/SSB. Just wondering what the difference is between the Loggers. IMHO, it seems to be

a redundancy with the SSB Only Version.

Good morning, Scott,

I keep getting e-mails about this Sprint that runs for 4 hours. The exchange is their call sign, your call sign, serial number, name and state/province.

Do you have any software that might work? The NAQP would work if I wrote down separately each serial number. But trying to eliminate that extra step.

Thanks in advance.

Right click the icon then properties and see what the path is to get to ACL.
Go there and see if the program is actually there or possibly the path is wrong somehow.

Hi Bernard,

Thanks for your e-mail.  I'm sorry that you have run into trouble.  What specifically is the error message that you are receiving when you try to start AC Log?  Which version are you running?

Your log files are independent of the installation (and AC Log makes backups automatically too), so unless your hard drive is failing, your log is likely fine.

Until today my ACL has worked well but this morning I tried to start the program and it will not start from the desktop shortcut or in Windows menu. I am at a loss as to how to fire it up, can anyone offer a suggestion? I am going to reboot the pc shortly to see if that fixes it, I am concerned that if I do a reinstall I will lose my logs that have not been backed up for a while.

Scott has a cw practice program the last I looked, and admittedly never used.

G4FON has a contest emulator that includes SS, as well as 5-6 other major CW contests.

It set me back $20, but can be set at any speed.  Work a couple of hours a day and push the envelope on speed.

You will be pleasantly surprised at your score on Scott’s SS program when done.

It could be a comedy routine, remember the Bob Newhart show " Larry introduce his brothers this is my brother Darryl this is my other brother Darryl"

I guess I forgot about the headings. It would be nice if it was with first block of info in the stats

with the contacts by band. The coding always looks easy from the outside.

Total op time (breaks > 30 min deducted): 2:36:17
Total op time (breaks > 60 min deducted): 4:07:37

Avg Qs/Hr (breaks > 30 min deducted): 39.5

What does this mean? How much operating time did I do?

Re: Rig Interface

Thomas

This is a good opportunity to enable the API on AC Log, then have the contest loggers talk to the API for radio bits.  It also makes it dead easy to transfer your contest contacts into the general log.

On Tue, Oct 27, 2020 at 3:28 PM Pat Whelton <pwhelton@...> wrote:

Never mind.  I changed some more stuff on the Rig Interface screen and “FINALLY” got it to work.  I then figured out how to take a screen shot and now have my own photo of what it looks like.  I’m headed to Wells Fargo to place my copy in the old safety deposit box.

As an aside.  I’m not a programmer but I think I know what causes my Rig Interface to go into Never-Never Land.

Here’s the scenario:  you always have ACLog open (always).  You’re a Ham right?  Ok, you’re thinking of trying one of Scott’s other programs because there’s this contest you’ve been wanting to try.  You go to Scott’s website and browse around and find the contest logger you think might fit the bill.  You download a copy and fire it up.  Danger Will Robinson.  This is where I think Ham Radio as you and I know it comes to a screeching halt and you have to play detective for a couple of hours.

I think because you now have two copies of various loggers vying for the same resources nothing but bad and evil things can happen.  Especially when it comes to com ports and Win-Keyers.  Bad, bad, bad things.  Really bad.

Again I’m not a programmer and don’t know how hard it is to retrofit 100 programs or if it’s even possible but it seems to me something like if “such and such is running” or if “your favorite com port” is in use do not allow another iteration of the program access to the resource or allow another iteration of a similar logger to run.

However, what do I know?  I just manage to get trapped by this little operating event more than I care to.

Regards,

Pat – KZ5J
