Re: ACLog spots to Flex 6400 Panadapter
Dan Trainor
Hi Lou, I only see "Transfer API" in Files dropdown menu. Which is for another purpose. I am trying to set up a working TCP / IP connection between ACLog and FlexRadio via the Flex API (DLL) interface. I am troubling shooting the issue end-to-end. I do not yet know how to establish this connection and pass Band, Freq, Mode, Spot information to/from ACLog and Flex Radio. I have configured everything I can on ACLog side with port 1100 LISTENING, but see no data passing. But, it is not clear to me how to configure Flex to know about this port. Puzzled. Thanks, dan WA1QZX

Hi Dan,
Thanks for your follow up. To interface directly with a Flex radio, here is what you are looking for in Settings > Rig Interface:

Re: Is there a way to tune rig frequency using keyboard while running AClog?
Scott Davis
Hi Greg,
Thanks for your e-mail. I'm unable to duplicate what you describe with my 7610. If for example I tune to the edge of the CW / SSB portion of 10 meters, 28.300.02 and press Ctrl + Up, the rig mode changes to CW as the rig tunes to 28.299.97. If I then press Ctrl + Down (twice because the CW increments are smaller), the rig tunes to 28.300.01 and the mode changes back to SSB.
If you paste a screen capture of your rig interface settings into an e-mail, it might bring something to light. 73, Scott

With the rig interface engaged, pressing Ctrl + Up changes the SSB mode on my IC-7300 to CW. Pressing Ctrl + Down, for example, does not change it back to SSB. I have to reset it on the radio. Any advice? Thanks, Greg JO3SLK

Thank you very much for your post
I found it very informative It has motivated me to look at the individual contest log apps I probably would not have done that without your post I wondered why you started a new thread then I looked at my original post and saw what had happened to it Thanks again for your posting

Hi Mel,
Thanks for your follow up. Jim's answer is correct (thanks Jim) From: http://www.n3fjp.com/faq.html#q6
![]() With the versions of my software released after June, 2016, with the API server enabled in Amateur Contact Log 5.6 or later (Settings > API > TCP API Enabled), from the contest software's menu options, just click File > Transfer via API.
The ADIF alternative, which works fine too, is then detailed later in that answer.
Enjoy!

For John AJ1R
John, I had never worked a contest before I bought ACL, the whole program including keys for all the contests. Now, working contests such as the State QSO Parties, is really fun. One big advantage for you is that the contest logs are in much larger print as you will find out. They will make it much easier for you to read, especially if you have a large screen monitor like my 32”.
You download the contest program, enter the key, and you’re in business. The contest logs have just the items required for the contest, making it very simple.
Give it a shot and you’ll be glad you did.

Hi John,
Thanks for your e-mail. I understand that you are operating casually, but using the contest software is the best solution, not only for displaying duplicates right below the call entry window, but you will simply have more fun, as everything is laid out exactly as you need it for the contest exchange.
I've worked really, really hard on all these contest programs. They will definitely solve the duplicate problem. Please use and enjoy them! 73, Scott N3FJP

-----Original Message----- I enjoy contests by making contacts and giving points to those participating in the contest. I use the standard N3FJP log program to record my contacts and check if I have previously worked the station. The problem I am having is the result of using Microsoft Magnifier which I use because of my poor eyesight, it makes the screen appear larger. Larger than what will show on the physical screen. When I enter a call sign in the data entry area and then press the tab key, the previous times I might have worked the station shows in the upper window area. Unfortunately, because I am using "magnifier" you have to move the cursor upward in order to see any previous contacts in the upper part of the screen. Then you have to move it back down in order to continue with the login process. It would be nice if the previous contacts showed up in the lower portion of the upper window. With the most recent contact at the bottom of the area That way they would be visible without having to move the screen to see them. One solution would be if Scott could modify the app, so that your previous contacts showed in the lower portion of the upper area with most recent at bottom. I am looking for any ideas on how to handle this issue. Thanks for any ideas.

John It is easy to merge the contacts back in to ACLog. from the contest program do a file > export it will create and adi file. next go into ACLog and do a file > import. I do it every contest and it never fails. Mel NE9A

John There are so many variables in what you are asking. 1) did you work them during the contest period (which might be over multiple days) 2) did you work them this band 3) did you work them this mode 4) did you work them in state that is why the contest programs were designed. Mel NE9A

Scott, thanks for the very quick reply. I did purchase the license to use all of your contest software, but have not tried the contest packages yet. I usually only work a few contests like Field Day. I will look at the contest packages.
If I use a contest package can I easily merge those contacts back into my main log.

Python Script
JoAnn Donaldson
I attempted to use the Python Script with JTDX in order to be able to Log Contacts to my N3FJp ACLogger that resides on another computer. An error was discovered that would not allow the Script to work with JTDX. I contacted Dave Slotter, W3DJS and we worked out the kinks.
Dave sent me an email saying I put in a change to support JTDX. You can pick up the updated script here: https://github.com/dslotter/wsjtx_to_n3fjp
This will correct the error. Now it works on both JTDX and WSJT-X.
