OUCH! I see this is an old and unanswered topic. :(     The only solution is N1MM some say. But I've tried it three times and it is still a nightmare for me.
fldigi in the FSK mode with my winkeyer and rig in RTTY mode is a dream to work with and I need a simple logger for BARTG and a few others.

Adapting available specific contest logger for OTHER contests & fldigi

Bo W4GHV

We have a lot but not all of the contests covered, and I usually do trial/error to adjust what we have for the other contests.
Usually successful, using ADIF master and ADIFtoCabrillo programs.

Has anyone compiled a list of tips to do this? I keep failing to record my  results.

Second, adapting to fldigi is a nightmare. Despite a LOT of improvements, fldigi is still stubborn for these cases.
Using the ACL logger, I tried using the fldigi BARTG RTTY setting  and the Generic Contest setting.
It starts out briefly and sees ACL and kicks out, back to ACL and doesn't work.
I doubt W1HKJ has a solution, since his mods now work GREAT with the CORRECT logger programs. :)

Doing manual editing in today's BARTG 75 RTTY contest. Can't figure how to kick the Icom into 75 baud, but fldigi is fine.

Thanks, Scott. I was hopeful of saving you another email from me. Knowing your passion for supporting AC Log,  I should have known better!

I am unable to use this function as it just keeps looping after the Reset box.  After several emails and suggestions from Scott, without resolving the problem, he advises "I suspect that your internet protection software is clamping down on AC Log and/or your settings files. Giving AC Log and the support files the proper permissions on your protection software will correct that."

I am running Windows 10 with Norton 360. I have canceled all obvious "switches" within 360, Windows Firewall, etc. without resolution of the problem. I would be most grateful for advice on how to proceed. Further, I am not familiar with 'permissions' and can find no specific details about the process.

Thanks and 73, W1JHG

Re: Schedule Export?

Jim Edmondson

Mitch, thanks for the suggestions.  GridTracker tracks lots of other parameters in addition to grids.  The advantage is that it shows those items for all of the CQ calls (like JTAlert) so you can select which one to reply to quickly - which is important with FT8.  I use ACLog to keep track of award type info when "offline" from FT8.  I agree this ACLog is a great application for contact logging and this very active forum demonstrates that.  Support by the ACLog team is the best that I have seen for any PC application that I use for ham radio or otherwise.

Re: Schedule Export?

Jim,

OK, I didn't think it was for backups since there are already backup options as stated by Scott.

I don't use GridTracker nor track grids so can't help you there.  ACLog does have its own tracking by grids, counties, states, countries, etc.  Click on the Awards tab at the top and see if that meets your needs.

Good Luck and welcome back to the hobby!!  You've chosen an Excellent logger program!!

Re: Schedule Export?

Jim Edmondson

Mitch, I am using GridTracker with JTDX for FT8.  GridTracker uses the JTDX log to determine what countries, states, etc you need.  You can also point GridTracker to an external adif file to get a more accurate list of countries, states, etc that you need.  Since I just started using JTDX, my older contacts (and all of my confirmations) are in ACLog.  So what I have been doing is exporting an adif every time I sync ACLog and LOTW for GridTracker to use.

If you see a better way to do this, I am open to suggestions.

Re: Schedule Export?

Scott Davis

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your e-mail.  For the contest software, the backup options (on close and / or every 15 minutes (if the contact count has increased)) exports in ADIF.  For AC Log, the interval is only on close and the actual .mdb file is copied.

Click File > Backup Options for more details from AC Log and the contest program to see the difference.

Enjoy!

Hi Frank,

Thanks for your e-mail.  For digital contests, you will want to interface the digital software directly with the specific contest program, not AC Log.  For example, you can interface FLDigi directly with my CQ WW RTTY Software for next weekend's contest as detailed here:

http://www.n3fjp.com/help/digitalsetup.html

State QSO parties are handled similarly.

Enjoy!

Good morning
I feel like it is a simple solution but i have not figured it out.

Setting up AC log to communicate to the radio and record frequency, etc, is pretty simple.

I like QSO parties and found it is really cool to use the TCPIP conndctions in ACLOG so the state qso party log captures band and frequency. No more changing bands but forgot to change the loa, log!

I use FLRIG as the CAT control for FLDIGI and WSJT-X. But if i want to use PSK31 or RTTY in a contest through FLDIGI,  what are the settings I need in ACLOG and the qso party log to successfuly log a digital qso?

I feel like its in the port settings in the N3FJP AC LOG interface but have not found a combination that works.

Thanks in advance.

Re: VHF.EXE Startup

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your e-mail.  I'm sorry that you've run into trouble.  The software should return an error if the path is broken, so I am wondering if your protection software is clamping down on the software.

In any case, you can open the Settings.xml file and change the path.  The file will be located in a directory along the lines of:

C:\Users\YourWindowsUserProfile\My Documents\Affirmatech\N3FJP Software\VHF

The path to change will be here:

<USERPATHFILE>C:\Users\snkda\My Documents\Affirmatech\N3FJP Software\VHF\2020ARRLSep.mdb</USERPATHFILE>

Enjoy!

Dear Group

When starting VHF.EXE, the program appears to wait forever with the message ‘Loading Log Data’.  This is most likely due to a broken network link/path to the data file.  I understand that.  My question is:  How can I reinitialize the path (even to a default)?  Is there some sort of soft switch or argument I can put in the command line to reset the path to the data file?

Uninstall/Reinstall does not help the situation, so I’m stuck.
