You should single click on the call in JTAlert, dot double-click.

From a video I saw the user double click on a call listed in the JT alert window and that started the sequence. My set up does not do that. Can anyone help me resolve this?

Re: Rig Interface Issue on Laptop

Scott Davis

Hi Del,

Thanks for your e-mail.  To disable rig interface, select None from the rig list, which based on your use case, you should do before closing the software if you are not going to plug in your com port before restarting it.

I don't know why you are experiencing a time limit regarding clicking OK.  I've not experienced that here.

Enjoy!

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] Rig Interface Issue on Laptop

I am having a couple issues with Rig Interface on my laptop (Windows 10 Home 64 Bit).
I only use this laptop if I am working away from the shack (i.e. Parks On The Air, Field Day etc.)

The first issue is if I start ACLog with out the USB Rig Control plugged in I receive an error that says Error opening Com Port for Rig Interface. Com Port X does not exist. I understand what this error message is saying and why, my question is there a way to turn off Rig Interface? I have tried and then turn it back on again when I am operating portable?

The second issue is if I don't click the OK button on the error massage above within a few seconds of it popping up the main form does not get populated when I do click OK, the program just sits there and says Not Responding. The only thing I can do is force close the program and restarting, this time making sure to click OK quickly.

Thank you and best 73!

AC Log 6.6.3 Beta - Please Test Multiple Rigs / CW / Phone Settings Ctrl X Swap

Scott Davis

Hi All,

I decided to add one more feature to the next AC Log release (which will also be in the next releases of the contest software).  If you have two or more rigs, would you please give AC Log Beta 6.6.3 a good test.

These all relate to the Ctrl X rig Swap feature.  Specifically:

-  Support for up to 3 rigs interfaced simultaneously (previously 2 rigs).

-  Ability to specify CW and PH settings files to associate with a specific rig (so when you toggle with Ctrl X, your CW and phone settings will automatically update, too).  You'll find these options at the lower left when you click Settings > Transmit CW / PH.

You will find the 6.6.3 beta here (don't forget to uninstall the previous version from Windows Control Panel first).

http://www.n3fjp.com/programs/ACLBETA.exe

Please let me know how you make out!

Thanks in advance!

That’s the way mine works too, but I’ve seen videos where the user initiated the qso by clicking on the alert in JT alert, which actually makes sense, but my set up doesn’t work like that, and if it should I would prefer it. Anyone have input?

You don't click on the call in JTAlert. click on the Call in WSJT_X. It will send the call to JTAlert which will then send it to to the Logger.

Re: ACLog 6.6 - getting message when I try to access'Edit Fields Displayed' window

Rick Hall

Scott,  Confirmed that the window was not maximized, but still got the error.   The Windows system where ACLog is running has had many special application access restrictions applied.  It turns out that one of those restrictions was apparently 'getting in the way of progress'.  Application access authorities were 'tweaked' and now able to edit the fields and add the ones needed for satellite QSOs.  Thanks again!  73, Rick - K5GZR

Re: xml tag <USERPATHFILE> in settings.xml for ACLog

Rick Hall

Scott,  Okay I think that explains the difference,  On one of the systems I had temporarily changed to a different database and then changed it back to the original, default, name.  Thanks for the quick response!   73, Rick - K5GZR

Re: ACLog 6.6 - getting message when I try to access'Edit Fields Displayed' window

Thank you Scott, I will give that a try and report back.   73, Rick - K5GZR

Try CW.  Usually works great.  Lots of DX and pretty simple.  Just get a keyer and go to town.

Should fix your problem.
