Hi Brad,

Thanks for your e-mail.  This is the N3FJP Software support group.  Your question is specific to JTAlert.  The JTAlert support group is here:

I strongly admonish setting the default at 50.

...wait until ya have 16,000+ QSOS.....it gets real slow....
and that is typical of any Database program.....not just ACLog....

Try CW.  Usually works great.  Lots of DX and pretty simple.  Just get a keyer and go to town.

Should fix your problem.

Hi Brad,

Thanks for your e-mail.  The QSOs you make in WSJT are transferred to my software via JTAlert when interfaced properly as detailed here:

http://www.n3fjp.com/help/digitalsetup.html

You'll find the JTAlert support group here:

Hi Rick,

Thanks for your e-mail.  Click Setting > Appearance > Form Size and enter 100.  When you restart the program, don't maximize it, just click Settings > Edit Fields Displayed.

Enjoy!

ACLog 6.6 - Settings dropdown list... When I click on 'Edit fields displayed...' I get a popup window with the message: 'Before customizing your main data entry form, you must display the main form at 100% form size and clear any user customized dimensions....'.   I understand how to set the form to 100%, but...
Here is the question:   Where do I go to find '...any user customized dimensions' so I can clear them?
Thanks,  Rick - K5GZR

Re: xml tag <USERPATHFILE> in settings.xml for ACLog

Scott Davis

Hi Rick,

Thanks for your e-mail.  They are both correct.  The initial value for each PC for the support files folder / file path is based on your default Windows OS %USERPROFILE% environment variable.  The rest of the path (\Affirmatech\N3FJP Software\ACLog\LogData.mdb)  is simply appended to the initial value that Windows returns for your UserProfile variable on the respective PC.

That said, if you click File > Save As and save to a new location, that will become the new default path going forward.

Enjoy!

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] xml tag <USERPATHFILE> in settings.xml for ACLog

I am trying to understand why the values for the <USERPATHFILE> in settings.xml for ACLog are different between my two computers.
They have the same:
OS - Win 10 Pro version 2004
Windows user name
Version of ACLog 6.6
-----------------
However (!) their values for xml tag <USERPATHFILE> are not the same:
computer 1:  C:\Documents and Settings\K5GZR\My Documents\Affirmatech\N3FJP Software\ACLog\LogData.mdb
computer 2:  C:\Users\K5GZR\My Documents\Affirmatech\N3FJP Software\ACLog\LogData.mdb
-----------------
Windows Explorer will not let me follow either of those paths to LogData.mdb.  I get a 'location is not available' popup with message 'access is denied'
----------------
AC Log runs 'normally' on both systems.
So the question is:  Which one is 'right', and... why?

Thanks,  Rick - K5GZR

Re: eQSL Error Message 'Your ADIF log file has been built'

Angelo,
That is solely an EQSL problem that I have seen from time to time.  I have always been able to go back and repeat the process successfully after a short while.  I attribute it to server overload but it might have to do with their internet conection.

I just looked at their site and community forum and this isn't a topic being discussed there which means it was a momentary glitch.  If you haven't retried, do so.  It will probably be successful.

Good luck es 73,  Doug, W5DET

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] Non-applicable "comments"

Hi Scott,

Sometimes when I input a call and hit "tab" and the info automatically
fills in I get some weird info in the "comments", often along with
"legit" information such as the stations address.

By non-applicable weird info, here is an example: Inputted the call
LZ3ND, log auto filled date, band, mode, power, time on, country, Ops
name. (fine with all that) then in "comments" it said "Fire Prevention
Week Special Event" - -, Nikolay Mukarev - Erding-85435 - Am Gries 27

The name & QTH is helpful but what is with the "Fire Prevention Week
Special Event"?

I did work a couple of USA stations during fire prevention week but
don't think it should randomly show up.

A similar message was along the lines of "Ravi Shanker remote operation"

Probably not a high on your list item so don't rush to reply. Just got
me scratching my head.

73,

Tom, WB2KLD

Re: LotW Download problem

Hello Bill,
You don't say whether you updated TQSL which is the source of that error message.
Also, have you updated your LOTW certificate for your current location?  It's quick and painless.
If your problems continue, I recommend going to the LOTW group for expert help from guys like Rick,  K1RM (TQSL) and Dave, AA6YQ (LOTW).
