Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] Log entry

I noticed that there is No CANCEL function for the log entry. On other Loggers that I have used, you can enter the call sign of the other station and have it display data like which state it is in, country it is in, and etc. If for some reason you don't make a contact, you can click the CANCEL button and the Log Entry is now ready to accept another call. I use this function to see if that is a State or Country I need. If it is a State or Country that I don't need, I have found myself trying to clear the fields only to have it accidentally log the entry. Which now I have to delete. One FT8, I usually enter the station call when we first link together. If for some reason my Station sends RR73 and I don't get a 73 in response, I will usually send another RR73. If I still don't get a 73 back, I want to be able to CANCEL the contact in preparation of another contact or if I get into one of those endless back and forth where you keep swapping RST's and the contact bust, then I need to cleanly CANCEL the contact.

Hi JoAnn,

Thanks for your e-mail.  There are a number of programs that interface directly with my software here.  N7YG Digital Engine is typically the easiest to set up and use, but they all work fine:

Hi Rick,

Thanks for your follow up.  Here are some sample macros our club uses:

It only takes a minute to copy and past them in and then tweak for the current contest.

Lou and Scott,
Thanks for the suggestions.
I managed to get N7YG Digital Engine talking to my serial card which supports 5 bit async going to the FSK input on my IC-746PRO. (Documentation is a bit scrambled in its references to using a 'real' serial port.)  HOWEVER!  There aren't any sample macros with the software... Waaaayyy too much effort to build macros from scratch to be able to have something ready for NAQP RTTY this weekend.

I am having trouble trying to figure out how to get spotting going. Using WSJT-x, ACL with JTalert. And have the wsjt aggregator installed and running.

Are there some straight forward instructions on getting to work?

Thanks

One day the software couldn't see the radio.

With just a little trouble shooting, I realized that the virtual com port that I was using "disappeared" from device manager.
I clicked "show hidden devices" and "scan for new hardware."  No help so I tried downloading it again from Kenwood but no joy.
I also went through the normal PC troubleshooting basics.  Among those were restarting, deleting the driver folder and downloading again.
Went with a new USB cable and used different ports.  I did go back through the rig settings and I am certain that I am good to go.

Lastly I replaced the 990 with the 590.
It's not working either.

Anyone had a similar issue?  All input is welcomed.

DX spot for 40m CW goes to USB vice LSB.

Jeff KB6CA

When I select a DX spot in the 40m CW range, say 7.015, it always goes to USB cw vice LSB cw.  I’ve gone to Settings but can’t find an answer.  It’s not a big deal but I do have to be careful to make sure I’m in LSB and make the change from USB to LSB on my rig.

Thanks.

Re: Amateur Contact Log

Hi JoAnn,

Thanks for your e-mail.  Responses are inserted:

1. How do you delete columns that you don't need.

**  You can slide any columns you don't want to see off to the right.  Just grab the header with your mouse and drag it.

2. Second, I know how to create separate Log files. But can not figure out how to Merge them into the Master Log. .

**  You can export log in ADIF and then import them via ADIF to your master log, as ADIF imports are appended to existing data.

Enjoy!

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] Amateur Contact Log

I bought your FD Logger and it worked great. So I bought your package deal. Installed the Amateur Contact Log. Imported my adif file from my old logger. had it sort the file by date so that the latest one was on top. Found what the Single Letter Codes mean and what the different Colors mean. So far it is working great. I do have two questions.

1. How do you delete columns that you don't need.
2. Second, I know how to create separate Log files. But can not figure out how to Merge them into the Master Log.

Thanks Rebecca and Scott.

The answer was to change my eQSL password on the server. I only had letters and numbers in the original. eQSL just wanted another password for some mysterious reason 😂

All's well that ends well.

Hi Mike,

Have you tried putting your callsign in the dialogue box labeled “eQSL Nickname”?  It is below the password dialogue box.

The Nickname should be whatever you used when creating  your eQSL account or, if you have more than one account in eQSL, the current account or nickname.

I hope this helps.

Dear Folks,

I am very happy with the Amateur Contact Log. Very intuitive and tidy. Only one problem, eQSL uploads don't currently  work. (LotW is fine).
It says the eQSL password and username have some problems, but I can login into eQSL manually with these login data. Using another way, I can upload the ADIF file exported from the logbook SW, so the eQSL server is working.

I get this message for each QSO.
