Let me guess, buy a keyboard with horizontal F-Keys?  Seems to me most current day keyboards have the F-Key placement horizontal.

Thanks for your follow up.  I'm sorry that you are still having trouble.  The rig interface code in all my software is identical and everything has been working fine here all day.  From a working contest program, while polling your rig, click the Save Settings button under the rig list at the lower left.  Start the IARU software and click the load settings button.  That should do the trick.

If that does not correct the problem, please let us know what rig you are interfacing and send a long a screen shot of your settings.

Yes, I had the same idea so I closed down and re started - nothing helped. All works fine for the main / daily log, but this one is haunted - I will uninstall and reload for next year.

Scott, thanks for the quick reply as always.  Sorry, I get the idea but don’t know what the Dialogue Label is.  Is that the items labeled Call, Date, etc?  If so, I don’t see a way to move anything around.  The cursor doesn’t find anything to grab to move up or down between Recent Contacts and the items below.  I’ve attached another screen shot.  I see that the Call box and others are too high and have moved into the Recent Contacts area, but I can’t find anything to grab.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your follow up and sending along the screen shot.  That is helpful.  You have customized your form to cover the dialogue label, which always resides just under the Recent Contacts list.  Moving your entry fields / labels down to make room for the dialogue label will correct that.

Scott, still not showing the LoTW user on the Call tab.  I deselected the 2 boxes below and then selected them again to see if that would work but no luck.  I’ve attached a screen show showing what I get when I type in my own call.  The Ls are displaying below on the DX Spot but not above the Call box.

Scott, was working cw this evening.  HA5JI popped up on the DX band and it showed L for LoTW but it didn’t appear just above Call above.  I then typed in my call KB6CA in the Call box and hit tab and the LoTW user comment didn’t pop up just above the Call box either.  I typed in another couple from my log that were on LoTW and that didn’t work either. Am I missing something here?  This is a really handy indicator for when you hear something on the radio and it doesn’t show up on the DX band, knowing whether or not it’s on LoTW.

Hi, just got through watching Scott's video on the DXing.  On his DX spot the letter L for LoTW is displayed in a column indicating that the call uses LoTW.  I don't see a column for that on my DX Spotting Setup (Ctr D).  Am I missing something or has that been discontinued?  I just recently downloaded AC V 6.6 and have paid for the whole suite.

Thanks.

Enjoy!

Thanks.

Re: Rig Frequency adjust for transverter

Mike Olbrisch

For those running a transverter…..   at least my radio (FTdx5000MP) has settings to allow the display to read correctly when using a transverter.  Perhaps your radio also?

If not, and you are running one freq…..   type <CTRL>-<SHIFT>-<R> to stop rig polling.  Then on your first transverter contact, type in the proper frequency, and just let AC-Log fill it in the same after every contact.  If you are hopping around from contact to contact, that won’t help much.

Yeah – I know.  You want AUTOMATIC!  But until that day comes, you make it work some other way.  Of you switch programs.

Hope this is helpful in some small way.

Hi Scott
I could use that feature too.
I am just setting up a transverter for 4m which will mean manually adjusting the log for those contacts.
Thanks again for great software and service.

Re: Spotting stops working

Hey Mel.  Not sure if this will match your situation or not but after I acquired a new PC I had the same issue you are experiencing.  What I did to fix (repair) the issue was go into the Power & Sleep settings and change  the Sleep setting to “NEVER”.  I don’t remember what the factory default is but every time the new PC exceeded that default it would lose it’s DX Spots because it was no longer connected to the internet.

Again, this might not be what you are experiencing but who knows.  Give it a shot.

When using AC Log, I will start the DX Spotting and it will work fine. Then it will stop receiving new spots. If I switch to another Telnet spotting program, again it will work fine for awhile then stop again. If I now switch back to the original it will start again only to stop latter.

Any suggestions on what to try to keep it active, especially during a contest.
