Hi Scott…

I was using v6.3of your FD logger, v2.2.2 of WSJT-x and v2.16.8 of JTAlert.  Also, the computer is a laptop with Windows 8.1 (updated).

I will send you the adif file from your software so you can peruse it.  I’ll send it by a separate email, though, to the email on your website. J

But looking at the adi file in your FD logger, it shows mode as MFSK and submode FT4.  But when I uploaded to HRD v5, it only captured the mode.  I am guessing that came from WSJT-X.  I’ll send you that adi log, too, so that you can compare.

I couldn’t find anything from JTAlert going to your software.

Thanks for your follow up and report.  Which version of my Field Day software did you use?  In my Field Day software, what is the actual mode in the mode field that JTAlert inserted?

Just a quick update...I followed you instructions, Scott and that's all sorted now.  Thanks!

One thing I did notice when I uploaded the FD adif file to HRD v5, was that FT4 contacts were logged as MFSK16 in your software,  FT8 was showing as FT8 and I couldn't figure it out .  Finally, I looked at the log.adi file in WSJT-X and found that for the same logged time/date for the MFSK16 contacts, the freq was in the FT4 band, according to WSJT-X.  Fortunately it only effected about 40 contacts!  Not releshing a manual update x40, I did a Bulk Edit in HRD, highlighted only to the affected contacts and made them FT4.  All done and dusted in about 2 minutes.

Not a huge issue for me, once I understood what happened and the quick fix.  I'm guessing that your software gets the MFSK16 from WSJT-X, as it's log files also showed MFSK16 for the mode, instead of FT4. I'll post on their group, too but thought you might want to know in case others blame your software :)

Hi David,

Thanks for your e-mail.  If you have already uploaded all records to both LoTW and eQSL, you can select all your records (click on the first record and then the last record while holding Shift).  Then click Edit > Mark Selected Records as QSL > Sent.  Enter LE when prompted.

Enjoy!

Hello to the group. I have imported all of my entries from my old logging program successfully into AC log. My old logging program would prepared and upload to LoTW. I would also send updates to eqsl. My concern is connecting to and uploading new QSO’s made in AC log to Logbook of the World. Is there anything I need to do first to my AC log contact data to avoid dupes (of my prior contacts made in old log) from being formed in LoTW? Same question for eqsl?
Any suggestions or information, experience will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Adding written logs to Field Day Log

Mike Olbrisch

Yes – do this.  First, make a back-up….   Just in case.

From the top menu bar – click on > SETTINGS à  POST CONTEST MODE.

Be sure to have the proper band and mode selected at the bottom as you enter your contacts.  Enter the call – class – section – time on – date for each of your contacts.

When all entries are in, again click on > SETTINGS à  POST CONTEST MODE.  This will exit the post contest entry mode.

Last, click on > FILE à SORT LOG ON DATE.

That should do it for you.  Good luck.

Field day ft8

Jim Storms

Did some ft8 with field day. Initially had some issues with it going to aclog automatically. Then I rtfm and found my issue. Not the cleanest solution but probably the best when using outside programs to interface with each other. Now just need to remember to change back to regular aclog.

we had one family using same computer and same field day log program but different log files. Was simple for them to to just change log files. But our club used the club processor which worked great but for them was a lot of settings to remember to change between operators. In the end It worked out for them.

For field day, five of us used Scott's club logger. it worked fantastic and I found it really motivating. It really made the contest more fun.

The problem we have in our DX club is people use several different contest logging programs (N3FJP, N1MM+, Writelog, etc), so someone suggested to try https://contestonlinescore.com/
which will work with all these different programs.

I see from their webpage that Scott's contest logging programs work with it. Has anyone used "Contestonlinescores" with N3FJP contest program? If so, how did it work?

Thanks

Thanks for your e-mail.  I assume you are attempting to transfer via ADIF.  For bulk edits of ADIF files, most folks use the free ADIF Master software.

You should also read this FAQ here for more insights into what you may encounter:

Hi Mel,

Thanks so much for the great report.  Yes, my software will upload to the two major on line score boards as well, but our club prefers watching the page my Club Score Processor creates.  It is clear, specific to our club members and provides the stats that we are most interested in.  And yes, it is VERY motivating and fun!!!

I've had some great reports on the Club Score Processor and I'm really happy that so many clubs tried it this year!

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your e-mail.  Please do the following:

-  Make sure that you are running AC Log 6.6.

-  Click File > Download Country Files from AD1C (mode mapping files are also downloaded).

-  Close and restart AC Log.

-  Clear the newly imported records from the File > Reset Counter menu option.

-  Go ahead and import the file again.

Enjoy!

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] ADIF transfers

Hi All,
I worked FD entirely on PSK31 this year using fldigi 4.1.13 with an API connection to he N3FJP Field Day logger 6.3.  Everything worked perfectly!  The Field Day logger recorded the mode as "DIG" for all contacts, as it should since that's all that's required for the contest.  After FD I proceeded to transfer the complete FD log from the Field Day logger to ACL 6.4 using ADIF.  In the selection box I checked "Covert DIG to PSK31".  However it all was recorded in ACL simply as PSK, not PSK31.  Looking at the ADIF file with notepad, I find that the mode for each contact is correctly specified as PSK and the sub mode as PSK31.  I encountered this same problem a few months ago when transferring data from fldigi directly to ACL.  At the time I thought it was an fldigi problem, not an ACL issue, but now???  In the past I had to manually edit each ACL entry to correct this.  Not looking forward to doing that again!  Any suggestions will be welcome!  The awards page in ACL and LotW maintain statistics for each of the sub modes, PSK31, PSK63, etc., individually.  I operate on all of them and want to see separate modes recorded.

Field Day - JTALERT (WSJT-X) user error

I disabled my JTAlert ACL logging not auto-starting it from JTAlert. I then added autostart for FD-Log.

But when I tried logging an FT-8 contact using JTAlert, I'd get the error " "Invalid QSO Data. Check exchange sent and received"
I had WSJT-X Field Day setting enabled with "1D NFL"

I could not figure out what I did wrong - any suggestions/tips (for next year!)

Nope, not a a/v thing. This is a "feature" of versions 3.2 and 3.1. Version 3.0 works as expected. I have sent an inquiry to the developer as this seems to be a consequence of the "copy/paste line" feature added in 3.1.

Generally speaking one should use the latest version of any software, especially logging related. You miss important updates otherwise.

Yeah, that used to work. Now it doesn't seem to for me with version 3.2-20-0307. No matter what copy-paste incantations I try it just copies the whole line. Not good. Most of the "Replace" logic doesn't seem to work as I would think either...
