How Long After Logging Does ACLog Send to LOTW, etc.?

Dennis Younker NE6I

Sorry if I missed this but how long after one logs a QSO in ACLog does the software upload to LOTW and ACLog? I have had a couple of instances of logging the wrong call or QSO info, and quickly going back to delete or edit the QSO. I have never been sure as to whether I have beaten the upload. I poked around and do not see that this is configurable. One can of course Enable Realtime Upload (and I have) but does that mean immediately after logging a QSO or is there some slight delay? Same question for eQSL and ClubLog.

Hi Michael,

You need to set JTAlert to automatically start WSJT-X and then N3FJP, with appropriate delays. In JTAlert: Settings >> Manage Settings >> Applications >> Auto-start. I use 1500 ms for WSJT-X and 15000 ms for whichever N3FJP program I am using at the time. WSJT-X does the rig interface and JTAlert does the logging to N3FJP.

When I try to start JTAlert first, I get a box that says "WSJT-X must be
running before JTAlert can continue." Also, all instructions regarding
N3FJP say it must be running before the digital program is started for
the logging API to work.

Getting ready for Field Day. I have the latest versions of WSJT-X
(2.2.1), JTAlert (2.16.8), and N3FJP Field Day Log (6.3).

My understanding is to start N3FJP > WSJT-X > JTAlert in that order. I
have followed the various tutorials and instructions for setting these
up. When I start WSJT-X, I get a "Rig Control Error" box asking to set
up the rig parameters (IC-7300). These are all correct. Running WSJT-X
by itself is no problem. Only when N3FJP is running do I have an issue.

I am obviously missing something. Any suggestions as to what?

Thanks, Scott. Here's where I run into additional confusion. Most of the
time, I will be running phone. I will occasionally fire up WSJT-X and do
some FT8 and I may also use fldigi for PSK31. Normally, I do not have
the digital apps running when I am not using them.

I can start and stop fldigi without issue. It is only WSJT-X I have
problems with.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your e-mail.  I'm sorry that you have run into trouble.  Anytime you see the "Object reference" error, select None from the rig list and then correct your settings, being sure to click on the correct com port for your set up when you do.  Selecing None will clear any prior settings and the error.

Use the Icom2 selection for the 9700 and change the rig ID to A2 as detailed in the successful settings other 9700 users have sent along here:

I'm having similar issues with my 9700 and unable to get Field Day Contest Log 6.3 to work. Running Win 10 64-bit with latest Icom COM drivers (Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge - version 10.1.2.2115 dated 5/7/2018) showing working properly on COM3 and COM4 via USB port.

Icom Programming software, RTSystems, Win4Icom, WSJT-X and Ham Radio Deluxe all functioning properly.

It feels like the logging software is not communicating with the driver properly, as changing COM port or any parameters in the settings causes the error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" message to appear, along with others, which seem to indicate issue with driver.

I'd like to get this figured out before Field Day if anyone has any ideas.

Any and all help appreciated in advance.

Re: Edited entries re-uploaded?

Careful with that “ALL NOT PREVIOUSLY”.  If you operate from anyplace other than your main location, that can miss up your confirmations to other stations.  Say for example my last operation was Jelm Mtn WY, and for some reason I marked a CW contact as SSB.  When I correct it, if I just allow it to upload with all not previously, it might confirm TX and not WY, with all associated county-grid errors too.

If you never operate from anything except your home QTH, “ALL NOT PREVIOUSLY” is fine.  Just be aware of little problems like that.

Alternatively, if you change any of the parameters that LotW looks for, date, time, band, mode, callsign, etc.  It will resend them  automatically next time you upload, if you select to upload all not previously uploaded.  I had several contacts transferred from fldigi that showed the mode only as PSK.  I changed them to be PSK31 and ACL re-uploaded all of them to LotW without any action by me.

Club Score Processor - Example URLs?

Scott Davis

Hi All,

I am getting some questions direct from folks asking for an example URL of how to upload their log or totals page for various hosting services.  The only services I have familiarity with are Directnic (and our club site, which is hosted privately).

If you have the Club Score Processor (or the contest software) successfully uploading to a professional site, would you please copy and paste the URL that you are using and send it along.

I only need two or three for each service, to provide as examples, so if there have already been a couple replies for the same service you are using on this thread, there is no need to reply.

I understand that any sub directories may be different, but don't edit the URL in any way.  DO NOT send your User Name or Password.  I'm only looking for working example FTP URLs, for professional sites.

Here is mine for Directnic:

ftp://n3fjp.com/public_html/fd/

And our privately hosted site:

ftp://members.nemarc.org/

Having an example or two will really be a big help for folks working through setting up the Club Score Processor.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the interesting information!  Though not allowed for Field Day, I understand that Distributed Multi-Op is becoming increasingly popular for other contests.  This will be a great test to see how your approach works under actual contest conditions.

Success or fail, please be sure to post your configuration details and how it worked out here on the Users group!  I will be very eager to hear!

Just wanted to report that K5JS and I have successfully linked our FD logs over the internet using the Hamachi LogMeIn software.
The process ended up not being troublesome at all once we navigated through the mysterious Windows stuff for the first time.
I'm in the process of writing up a short how-to document.

We plan to try a "Non-legal Field Day"  just for fun, probably simulating class "3-E"    ... deploy the VM Corps  LOL

It grossly violates the 1000 ft rule, (we're in three adjoining parishes (counties, for y'all not in Louisiana) so we won't submit a score, but we will report our result to ARRL HQ and describe what we did in hopes they might embrace the scheme for some future events.
