Select Muliple QSOs

Joe Pfeuffer

I probably missed this in the FAQ [I searched twice]

I have 3K contest QSOs and about 100 'boro' cards to return.

Is there an easy way to select multiple and non-contigous QSOs to export?

Thanks, es 73

With Notepad++, a free utility, you can use the powerful search and replace function to do bulk inserts with a bit of cleverness. Of course ADIF Master works well also but its UI is a bit quirky and you have to poke and play a while to get the hang of it. I have used both, and mostly use ADIF Master unless I have a quick thing to do.

The ADIF spec is online and the format of the fields is actually dead simple to understand.

Of course if you have MS Access you can edit the .mdb file directly. But I have never done this.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your e-mail.  If power will suffice, you can remove your imported records and transfer them again as detailed here, this time mapping power on your export:

Easiest way I have found is to use ADIF-Master, a free program that drives much like MS-Excel.  You can do block edits with it.  The nice thing about ADIF-Master is that you are working with a program that won’t let you screw up the formatting.

Yesterday I used the RAC log to run the Hamvention QSO Party. It worked great! Thanks.

This morning I imported an ADIF file to add those contacts to ACLOG. I see that the Power field was not populated, nor was my custom Rig field. Is there a way I can select all the records from the QP and update those fields en masse?

I was in the FD contest log and noticed that if you will be a 1D station for FD and enter another Delta station you get a message that says “Delta stations do not earn QSO points for working other D stations” Since many stations will be operating D this year, will it not matter. I also have heard that scoring will not take place. That’s a rumor only?
Any input

Confirmed Since makes for a little quicker query if you have not uploaded any new contacts since your last All Since.

To add to this, you can click the title bar of the Bnd column to sort by band. Click again to sort ascending or descending.

Hey Lawton.  Here’s a trick Scott showed me several months ago and it might be the answer to your query.

  • Say you want to know how many times you’ve worked Kenya.
  • Type Kenya in the “Country” box
  • Move the mouse curser to the top border of the “Country” box and click.
  • This will give you all the bands you have worked Kenya on.  It will tell you if you worked Kenya on CW, Digital, or Phone.  Plus it will tell you if you have Kenya confirmed or unconfirmed.

This little trick is a real time saver if you have several spots and you’re not sure which one you need the most.  Very handy.

User for approximately 7+ years and like the program.  Others have seen it and working with them to switch.
I have set as a long-range goal to achieve 5 band DXCC.   I do  a lot of FT8.  I use the “Find” option to frequently check to see if I already have that country on a particular band.  Some countries are like the U.S.  in that they have multiple prefixes.  Is there a simple way to link the country list to the “Find” button so that we could search by country name in addition to callsign?
Thanks for the review

Hello,

May I please ask how to change specific log entries to a different color than all other entered logs ??
I chase LATE SHIFT contacts on POTA and would like to SEE those stand out on my logging program.
This would useful if I can change the entry color based on UTC of the contact.
Thanks for your time!

I am not really an experienced user, but you could go to the top and click on country and it will sort the file by country,. there you could see the info that you want.

Scott,

If you are making changes to the LOTW form, please consider adding a button to "Visit LOTW status page" (http://www.arrl.org/logbook-queue-status).  A new button could be inserted to the left of "Visit LOTW Help Page" and the the button texts probably don't need the word "Visit" if you need to make space for an additional button.

Thanks for your consideration and work on ACLog
