can i install program on all 3 computers in my shack?
CLOVIS
Greetings, I am brand new to the N3FJP group. I have two desktop, and one laptop computer in my shack. I purchased the full suite back in 2018, and installed it on one of my desktops. Can I install the software on the other two computers in my shack? went to the FAQ section, and did not find any info on this. Thanks!! WA2JJV

FD Log using VPN on Windows 10
Ron Johnson
I recently reviewed Scott's sons instructions on using a 3rd party VPN to share the FD log with remote users. I noticed that Window 10 has a built in VPN, and I was curious if anyone has had success using the Windows 10 VPN and if you have any advice or instructions.
Thank you, Ron , KK6I

Re: Mass Update
What I have done in the case where I forgot to enter my power is to find the first record in the contest and enter my power there. If I ever want to refer back I know to look at the first record for the power used. If you change power, log that in the contact that you changed power at. Logging power is only relevant for your personal records. As Scott alluded to LoTW does not even record power, and contest submittals typically determine your power class from the Cabrillo header.

Hi Mark,
LoTW doesn't care about power, so you will be fine.
Regarding the API question, sure, You will have to code up a client to send the command though, so while sending a command is easy via my API, the overhead for what you have in mind is probably not the sensible path.
Enjoy!

Scott,
Thanks for the link.
I also looked at the documentation for the API. It looks like it might be possible to issue a SQL update command to populate the two fields, can I do that through the API? I don’t have MS Access.

Re: Mass Update
With Notepad++, a free utility, you can use the powerful search and replace function to do bulk inserts with a bit of cleverness. Of course ADIF Master works well also but its UI is a bit quirky and you have to poke and play a while to get the hang of it. I have used both, and mostly use ADIF Master unless I have a quick thing to do.
The ADIF spec is online and the format of the fields is actually dead simple to understand. Of course if you have MS Access you can edit the .mdb file directly. But I have never done this. 73 -Jim NU0C On Sun, 17 May 2020 07:20:49 -0600 "Mike Olbrisch" <mike-2020@elp.rr.com> wrote: What I mean by that is I hear-tell you can edit an ADIF-file in a text editor like Notepad. I have set as a long-range goal to achieve 5 band DXCC. I do a lot of FT8. I use the “Find” option to frequently check to see if I already have that country on a particular band. Some countries are like the U.S. in that they have multiple prefixes. Is there a simple way to link the country list to the “Find” button so that we could search by country name in addition to callsign?
