Re: Changing CW Speed

Scott Davis

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your e-mail.  The other possibility is an outdated OS driver, so you might take a look at that as well.

By the way, when everything is working right, it is not necessary to press F12 to changed speeds.  Just pressing the Up / Down arrow keys will do the tick.

Enjoy!

I use Full Break in and it keys, however the speed is stuck around 13 WPM no matter what I try. I can use my internal CW key method on the rig or my Bencher as well. If I'm calling DX it would have been nice to be able to adjust to their speed from ACLog, but certainly not the end of the world. I've considered getting a WinKeyer, for things like CW but also for FSK RTTY keying as well, even though that is also built into the ICOM 7300. If the computer CPU bogs down then sometimes it affects my CW generated keying, that's why I've considered getting it.

Hi Malcolm,

I forgot to mention, the UP/Down arrow keys also did not adjust the speed on mine. Thanks for the hint and appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Russ,

Upgrade to 6.6 and you should be fine. Also be sure that the OPERATOR field on the setup form is either blank or your callsign and that your TQSL is up to date.

Sorry, I didn’t mention I will be participating as a Florida station – you’re correct - Florida stations announce their county but receive only the state ID from the non-FL station during the exchange.  When contacting another FL station the “FL Cnty” field in the software opens so I can manually enter the FL county.  That all works great!  The county info I would like to capture is from the state other than FL.  I don’t see any opportunity to enter that info even if it’s offered by the station outside FL.  I would like to capture that information if possible in case I run across a county not in my log.  It’s not a problem but would be a nice feature in a future release.

I have installed the current version of the FL QSO software.  I notice there is a column  “County R” but it does not update when a call is entered.  This software unlike my Contact Log does not have the “CallBook” tab to specify a path to fetch this info.  I’m sure this is not required for the FL QSO Party but I hate to miss a county I have not yet worked.  Can the software populate this field?

Re: Changing CW Speed

K4GM-George

Scott, I use VOX to key cw on my IC-7300.  I have used the ACLog cw generator but switched to a winkeyer a  while back to avoid occasional hangups in my pc causing erratic  code.   I adjust speed by hitting F12 and then running up and down on my arrow keys until the speed picks up. Once it starts working right  I can operate hours w/o any issues. Just up and down with arrow keys to adjust speed.    one or two iterations ago the program started sending at a speed well below the number showing when first started.    But I found that by running it up to about 30 wpm or so and then down all the way would set it right.  Then I  set the speed to 25 wpm for casual operation .  Good luck.

Re: LoTW freezes \

There it is!   You just changed monitors.

We’ve experienced that issue at work.  While rebooting and moving the monitors around between system operators shift changes, a power plug falls out and a monitor goes dead, and the programs don’t like it.  Often takes plugging the monitor back in and another reboot.

This is what I would try.  If you still have the older monitors, put them back on line, determine which is the primary monitor, and drag the programs to it.  Then put in the new monitors and move stuff around.  Of course, someone may have a better idea.

Good luck with that.

Hi Scott, when you say desktop location are you referring to where on the monitor screen the application is positioned? One thing I can say is that I have a 2 monitor setup and just replaced both monitors prior to the error occurring.

Thanks and I love your programs!

Hi Goober,

Thanks for your e-mail.  I've not ever experienced it, so I really don't know.  My guess is that somehow the form was closed when not on a valid desktop location (user changed monitor locations or the like) and when it displays next time, it is not on a valid desktop location.  That said, my form display code does check for a valid desktop location on launch, so I am really not sure.

Re: Interface to WSJT-X

Jim Shorney

Not at all. There's a cool little Python script written by W3DJS that will do it automatically in the backgrounf. It works very well. Of course you need Python to run it. I've neverf run Python on Windows but it works nicely in Linux talking from WSJT-X to ACL running on a Windoes box.

https://github.com/dslotter/wsjtx_to_n3fjp/

Of course you can always import from the ADIF file created by WSJT-X.
