Not a big issue. Thanks for all you do. Maybe let some of the experienced users answer some of the operational question and you can take care of the problem questions.

Hi Mel,

I had every intention of adding support for the DE QSO party this year.  It was on my list, but with all the other projects and non stop e-mail support questions, it's not looking at all likely.

I'm sorry that I didn't have the answer you were hoping for.

Enjoy!

I could use some help setting up the CWT contest program.

The emulated Winkeyer in SmartSDR works well, but how do I change the speed?  I tried +,-, PgUp, PgDn, and the arrow keys.  How do I get to the macro key chart F1, F2, F3...  ?

Does Tab-Sends-Message work in this program (ver 2.1)?  If so, where do I enable it?

Thanks,

I just do the basic group select by doing a Select and Shift-Select on the first and last ones I want.  Very quick and easy.

Jeff.  Here’s the method I use.  This assumes you have a subscription to QRZ.COM.

  1. Copy down the last QSO record # from your log.
  2. Add to that # the # of QSOs you just imported (typically this is the contest log)
  3. Click on Edit.
  4. Click on “Fill Fields Determined By Call”
  5. Click on “From Rec # - To Rec #’
  6. Enter value determined in Step #2.
  7. Click Continue.

Please note that this will only change the records indicated in step # 5.  Hope this helps.

Regards,

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] Looking a way to update some empty logbook fields

Hi all,

When I import from time to time contest logs or any other log, like log when I was portable, into my main log in N3FJP..... a lot of information is missing. Example, when portable, fields like QTH, State, or any other fields that usually are populated using an Internet connexion and a callbook query, are not there.

I would like from time to time, to process my whole or a part of my logbook thru a process that will update missing fields that are not mandatory of course.

Another example: I did the last WES contest last week. And I use N3FJP fists contest software to log my contacts..... then when I exported my log to my main logbook..... I really woule like to fill all empty fileds that would be relevant to have..... like any other QSO's I already have in the rest of my logbook.

When I was on Apple in the last several years.... I was using RUMlogNG. And There was a feature to allow the user to update some empty fields of existing logbook QSOs using a external callbook like QRZ.com

I'm looking to do the same with N3FJP.

At least, I there was a feature to import ADIF and «update» any EXISTING QSOs with imported data instead of merging all of them and create another new record, it would be a good start.

Thanks and 73.

Hi Jeff,

Have you tried  EDIT >> FILL FIELDS DETERMINED BY CALL?  It will fill empty fields from your QRZ feed or from wherever you have selected.

Maybe.  If you can get WINE setup to run on the PI, then you might be able to get N3FJP software to run.

Hi Seth,

Microsoft have indeed a light version of Windows capable of running on a RPi. BUT, this version can run only software compiled to run on this specific CPU. This version unfortunately cannot run X86 platform software like all of current software like N3FJP.

This version is essentially for developpers that are able to test their software.

Sorry, no luck.... :-(

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your e-mail and suggestion.  I'm not going to have two Find buttons on the same form, but I'll take a look at prepopulating the default value with the selected call when you click the existing Find button.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi,

When one single clicks a callsign the, "PRINT QSL STRIP, EDIT, PRINT
ADDRESS, DELETE, ETC.", blue boxes pop up.  A person then performs one
of those functions on the callsign that was selected.

It would be very handy to have one additional box, labeled "FIND",
added.  When one left clicks that new blue box, a normal find command
could be executed, prepopulated for the callsign one clicked to bring up
all of the boxes in the first place.

I find for a number of reasons, that I look up a lot of calls I have
worked already.

Thanks for your consideration.
