Intermittent logging from JTAlert and LoTW confirmations

Mark Steele

Starting yesterday, I am getting intermittent messages from JTAlert that it cannot log a QSO with ACL 6.6.  Additionally, I have a growing number of QSO's in ACL that will not show 'Confirm By' from LoTW - even though I confirm they are in the LoTW database. If I manually add the 'L' to the 'S Conf By' field, the field does not change color.

I have also noticed that when I start a QSO in WSJT-X, ACL is not pre-populating the call sigh as it normally did (the setting in JTAlert for this function is set (Enable sending of new DX call when first selected).

I suspect that something is blocking port 1100 or it is not starting properly in ACL.

Windows 7 Home 64 bit
JTAlert 2.15.10 release (not beta)
ACL 6.6

I have restarted the app and the PC several times with no joy.
I have confirmed that JTAlert is set to ACLog, Local PC and TCP port 1100.

Best regards,

Mark

Hello

Where can I get the freq. to adjust 7.074 in the log.
If I now log a contact via JTAlert he put 7.074.488.000.
When I print a label, he sets the complete freq.

When that happens to me, I try to open the same URL as the program, in this case, Country Files.  It could be that the ARRL server was having some issues.  If I can open it from my browser, but the program can’t access it, I’d try rebooting the PC & reloading the program.

I inadvertantly posted the wrong Screen shot, I had WOKEN up to my error prior to posting however and downloaded the dx version.

The issue remains, and have have re-posted with the dx version showing, still the same error.

The upload process is very simple could it be an ARRL issue??

Have you checked to ensure the date format in ACL under settings>date options matches the system date format and what you expect?

As for the callsign DXCC being assigned to England, the way you entered the call is the format in which software may expect the characters after the slash to represent a location or DXCC other than what is indicated by the call. /GRA would map to England (GAA-GZZ). I haven't worked any QSO parties in years but I would expect that county should have its own field. In fact ACL does have a COUNTY REC field.

Hi Ian,

Thanks for your follow up.  As you can see from your screen shot, you have not entered valid states / provinces for each of the QSO records.  You'll need to correct the records with the state each station sent you accordingly and resubmit your Cabrillo file.

Enjoy!

Scott,
That sure was easy.  The hardest part was finding a USB Printer cable, but located one behind a wirelessly-connected printer, plugged it into the Yaseu & my venerable Lenovo, and in about 10 minutes following directions it was up and interfacing.  Thanks for the tip, guess it's time for me to read your "user manual" and see what other nifty things I can do.

Subject: [N3FJPSoftwareUsers] Suggestions from a new user #contest

Y'all, I'm new to this software but really liked it for this weekend's DX contest, I already have my log submitted (over 200 contacts), and that was really easy and quick.  I also exported a file which I imported to Excel to review, and that worked well also.  Working all bands 160-10, I found the software as easy to switch band logs as my FTDX3000.  Only 2 possible improvements I thought of.

First, when I switch between bands, I wish the sofware would preserve and populate the last Call Sign typed (for that band) so I don't have to retype it.  For instance, I was in a pileup on 20M for Alaska, and I would switch between that and a 15M pileup on another station.  Each time I would have to retype the last call into the software when switching.  I would think this would fairly easy to do.

The second "dream" enhancement would be if the software knew which band I was on, since I inadvertently (and sleep-deprived) logged a couple on the wrong band (one a dupe) before realizing the error of my ways.  (The EDIT feature made it possible to quickly correct the entries.)  I'm assuming there is a connection from the Yaseu rig that would make this possible.  For single operator - single band, it wouldn't matter, but I'm constantly switching between bands to make things more interesting!
